Nick Wright will after seeing this thread.

Nice Andy Rooney take.

Otherwise, I refuse to discuss this TEAM loss.

If reading threads on the CP is part of his show prep, that's pretty weak.

Well it's two things, really.

One is reading threads on CP and the other is getting drunk and throwing chicken bones on the lid of a 50 gallon drum.

"6. Was the defense the worst of the two? I can make a case for that too. What happened to Tamba Hali? I'll tell you what happened, Jake Long happened. Dude showed why he was the very first pick in the 2008 NFL draft. He stoned Hali. Just stoned him. The times Hali did manage to clear Long's block, the Fish had a back in protection to double team him. "

I said the same thing to my Dolphins buddy. He said Long has been a weak spot all year. But he looked 100 lbs bigger than Hali. If they moved Hali around or started both him and Houston from same side, I didn't see it. He had all day.

Miami matched up well against us, outplayed us and schemed us better. Definitely took advantage of our safeties and threw it at will over the middle.

Ten Things About Today's Game

10.If you ever needed a textbook definition of the term "Trap Game," today would be it. The whole rhythm of the day seemed off. Maybe it was the hangover from Monday Night Football. Maybe it was the time change. Maybe it was knowing the team coming in to Arrowhead was a big donut hole for seven on the season. In any event, the Chiefs looked like the winless team today, and Miami looked like they had everything to play for. The Fish hustled, hit big plays, didn't make a lot of stupid mistakes, played well in all phases; in short, they deserved to win. Congrats to them on a game well played and for getting off the donut.

9.-2. Omitted

1. Despite how maddening and frustrating this day was, all is not lost. The Faiders and Bolts both lost, and since Denver won today, maybe they'll not be as focused for KC next week. Hopefully the team will get it's collective act together and have a little "Come to Jesus" meeting in store for Tim Tebow. Things will not get easier with the Pack, Bears, Jets and Steelers looming on the horizon, so we have to make hay while we can. One last thing. It was Veterans Appreciation Day at Arrowhead. At halftime they had a beautiful surprise family reunion for an Iraq vet. It was very touching. They also showed a tribute in pictures to many of the men and women from Missouri and Kansas that have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. The dead came from everywhere we come from: KC, Columbia, St. Joe, Topeka, Manhattan, Wichita, on and on and on. There were dozens of them. After watching that, it made the second half of the game seem pretty meaningless, or at least it put into perspective what truly is a life and death matter. War is a life and death matter, football is not.

Thank you to all the veterans, past and current, for having our backs.

I'm really lost with this team. I want to say they need a pass rush probably a little more than they need a quarterback, and half the reason they keep getting choke slammed and blown out by random teams is there's no rush to disrupt the other teams rhythem, which then puts pressure on one of the least compossed quarterbacks in the NFL to move the ball. Seems to be a vicous cycle and if they could pick up a Kerrigan-type player in the draft this year, to go a long with a non-crippled berry, they could start wrecking sht. I actually think Haley's done a good job holding the team together and handling the season though, people should't be jumping to conclusions there...

You keep wondering when Bailey or Houston are going to stand up and be counted. I'm always wondering what the difference has been with Gilberry. Maybe the added weight has hurt his ability to close?

I agree, we have to focus on our pass rush more so than I thought we did at the end of the season last year. Taking TJ and putting him into a 3-4 was a mistake. Dorsey is barley making it. Gregg was the stop gap for Powe but Powe never sees the field. We could have had the guy that went to Baltimore last year but NOOOOOOO! Instead we fell in love with "playmakers". Berry and Baldwin were probably good picks but Dex and Arenas? I like Javier but seriously, I think we had more needs in the trenches than we did for undersized guys.

Todd Haley, rookie head coach, came into KC and took this team to a division title in his second year, his second... far bigger coaching names have taken a lot longer to claim as much, with a team in such a longstanding, abysmal shithole.

Not to mention that he did it with a bevy of picks & signings that have sometimes been less than stellar, as you are keen to point out, dont equate some jersey shore rejects dumb move with Haley not being a positive force for this team, warts & all... c'mon, you cant truthfully say that he hasnt changed the culture in a positive way.

Tyson Jackson consistently gets more pressure on the QB than Dorsey ever does. Dorsey usually gets pretty well stoned at the POA and TJ pushes his guy clear back to the QB quite often. It's like he doesn't really try to get off of the block and go after the QB though. Just pushes him back and puts his hands in the air. Has a few batted passes to his name though.

I would like to thank all of the players for the Kansas City Chiefs who left me with horrible memories from my return trip to Arrowhead. I hadn't been to a game there since 1987 and I drove 1,000 miles to see their "effort". Thanks again!

On the bright side, I did enjoy meeting Keith Cash. My favorite Chiefs memory is of him spiking the ball on that huge picture of Buddy Ryan's face in the endzone in Houston.

That was a great sports moment, to be sure.
