I just want to step-up and get shit done and not be so passive. identify problem ... come up with solution ... execute if it doesn't work, try again If we do go old with Manning/Wayne then we HAVE to aggressively work on replacements for both so that in 2/3 years are aren't screwed. |
No to Wayne, yes to Bowe.

I think Manning's gonna want Wayne. Does it make sense to go after him once Bowe is locked up? With Breaston and Baldwin? His name doesn't even start with a B.

I'll draft Robert Griffin if it means we have to find a way to draft Kendall Wright.

we should tag/trade Bowe regardless Hopefully sign Carr before deadline so we have the option |

Now of course this could be all talk and the proof will be in the pudding. There have to be good free agents out there to sign, as opposed to the relatively weak FA class of last year. And there is no excuse for not bringing Bowe and Carr back, so those better get done. But we're in a real good position right now, and we've got a head coach in place that most players actually wouldn't mind playing for, as opposed to Haley and his rep... |
Laz, you not a Bowe fan?

The new salary minimum (starting in 2013) refers to actual cash being spent, not a team's individual cap room. To meet the minimum, a team's cash spending will have to be at least 89% of the cap limit. Last year, the cap was about $120 million. Going into the season, the Chiefs' cap figure was like $20M under that. But according to the Star, their cash spending was $119 million, well above the 89% minimum. If the minimum had been in place, they wouldn't have had to spend another dime. They'll have to continue to spend more money as the cap continues to rise. But if their cash spending continues to fall in that same range relative to the cap limit, there's never going to be a point where they'll be forced to make a drastic increase in their cap room. |
