Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Even if he is, wouldn't this year be his last?

He doesn't have to fire Pioli.

Hunt has to show interest in his team, though. He does that by overruling Pioli and forcing his hand to draft a QB.

I suppose Clark can do that but will he? Is he gonna tell Pioli how to do his job? If so, I guess Clark is willing to accept responsibility for the draft, even though he has hired Pioli to run the football operations.

I bet Clark will just check chiefsplanet to know which QB to draft. It's all good!

@kcryanmcd: @SaveOurChiefs Pitoitua came in for Dorsey, had 2 sacks. Dorsey/Jackson have 6 sacks in 99 previous starts combined.

I'm sure he would come here first before consulting the team scouts.

I had to search, but yes, it was a 4 yr deal.

As I've been saying ALL OFFSEASON AND 2012 SEASON:

Clark either extends Pioli this year or fires him.

If he extends him, he gives him A LOT MORE MONEY THAN FIVE MILLION.

Why would he give MORE MONEY to a LOSER?

Good point

So basically Pioli and Haley will be off the books. If that's the case then yes, I can see Clark bringing in a new GM and then letting that GM hire the coaching staff and make changes to the roster. The only remaining dead money would be Crennel and probably at least some of the fired coaching staff.

There is no way that you extend a GM with 3 losing seasons out of four.

jd1020 10-05-2012 09:39 PM

Pioli won't be extended or fired. He's here for 1 more year, at least. I just hope he dumps his love for one of the worst starting QBs in the league.

sooo what does this mean? Are you saying Pioli will be hired year-to-year kinda like renting a house month-to-month? I don't think it works that way but whatever.

Has anyone as yet created a comprehensive list of his boneheaded decisions? If not, that should be done and sent to CK.

If there's the smallest sliver of hope here, it might be found in the fact that CK did axe Carl and hire the person he thought was the best available candidate for the job. Other than his father's tendency toward blind loyalty, there's no reason to believe that Clark has changed his mind about building a winner.
