Choosing not to take a great QB right now at number one because you'd rather, on some indeterminate future date, using some indeterminate future pick, select some other indeterminate quarterback, sounds to me like the very definition of cutting your nose off to spite your face.

If there was a Jonathan Ogden in this class, people might be okay with that. Hell, if there was 2/3 of a Jonathan Ogden in this class, people might be okay with that. We're basically talking about drafting John Tait at #1.

Fact: QB's picked in the 2nd-7th round have had more success in the last 25 years than QB's picked 1st overall.

He was drafted 18th overall, which means we don't have to pick 1st in the draft, or even top 5, to get a franchise QB.
