See those large tracks that would have to be there for it to roll on? Those tracks and the roof itself would have been completely in the way and would have made access to the stadiums far less convenient. The fans would have to either climb over the rails or go around them in order to get into the stadiums. And for what purpose? So that the roof could be rolled over one of the stadiums on a rainy day, a snowy day, or for that mythical Super Bowl in Kansas City, the town with insufficient hotel space and not nearly enough entertainment options to attract a week-long event of that magnitude?

The rolling roof would have been an eyesore and an abomination. Even if technology can solve the problem of the tracks by recessing them into the ground, you'd still have that idiotic roof sitting there unused 360 days each year. I was elated when the voters rejected that idea.

Based on that image, the rails are raised. There would be no climbing over anything. You would be walking under a raised platform. What's so bad about that? Again, based on this image, I have no idea how anyone could complain about making access to the stadium difficult.

Now ugly? Sure, no argument. The tracks however should not be any sort of impediment.

The idea behind the rolling roof is so you can attract events to the Sports Complex 365 days a year instead of about 100 that there is now.

Not just a Super Bowl, you have college football championships, Final Four, NCAA tournaments, rodeos, monster trucks, motocross, more major concerts, conventions, etc. There is a lot of stuff that could be brought to Arrowhead during those January to March months that don't come to Kansas City now. St. Louis sells out the dome for motocross each year for an example.

Yeah. I mean, except football games.

Why would you have to move the K?
There isn't shit out blocking development.

I might be a weirdo, but I prefer freezing cold to blistering hot.

December games at Arrowhead > early September games at Arrowhead

If you want it to work and work well, everything needs to be within walking distance. I personally don't want to walk across all of the busy ass roads right there. Especially with all the drunk idiots getting into their cars from the stadiums.
