I mean, he's already been playing the CB position for what, 3 years now including last season? He's as good as he's ever going to be with that whole 2 years of college experience and 1 year of NFL experience playing the CB position. :thumb:

Putting him in over Dunta Robinson and Ron Parker doesn't say a whole lot.

Cooper is Trash.

Our secondary which was formidable just a few seasons ago has been nerfed into the Warfield/Bartee era.

Wasn't it TorchedField ande Burnee?

Bad contract. Young guys have to step up.

Cooper can't handle the perimeter. He proved that last season. He was good against QB's who telegraphed come back routes.

When a decent QB actually challenged him in went into Bartee mode. Have you forgotten how embarrassed he was?

Owens was brought in to cover the slot, not Gaines.

Again, Cooper was a project to begin with. He's only going to get better and you can expect improvements over this off-season in his technique. If you were the Jets, would you give up on Dee Milliner after the way he played last year? Hell no. News Flash, Cooper was twice the CB that Milliner was for the Jets last season. He was arguably the best rookie CB in the league last season. You don't expect any improvements in his game? Really? Expecially given the fact that he only played 2 years at CB in college and was a very raw prospect coming out?

Yeah, ok. The sky is falling and we have nobody at CB.:thumb:

I don't expect much improvement, no. Just because he has another season under his belt doesn't mean he's improved.

Milliner? You're going to compare a 1st round pick to an UDFA?

Look, you're putting all your faith in hope. Could he get better? Certainly? That doesn't mean he WILL get better. For every player that gets better, there's a handful who don't and another handfull that get worse.

The only thing that Cooper proved last year was that he has a looong way to go.

eh, that's business in the nfl...i'm kind of glad we seem less sentimental now

we got his best years (or 80% of them)...i'm sure he has a couple of decent years left, but those aren't worth the 7 mill savings

Hali's probably next unless he restructures next year

Chiefnj2 06-13-2014 02:01 PM

Good for Flowers. I hope he finds his way to a team that can win a playoff game.

No, he wasn't.

Wasting that entire ****ing '08 draft class. I ****ing hate this organization. Albert gone, Dorsey gone, Flowers gone, Carr gone. Charles only one left.

Right. I don't disagree.

The problem i have is that the cupboard is bare.

So we freed up $7.5 mil this year and next year to apply to the Houston and\or Smith re-signings. I have no problems with this. Flowers was a great CB when healthy but the last 2 years he was constantly nagged with injuries and it slowed him down. Good luck to him wherever he ends up.
