Gameday revenue is a drop in the bucket compared to a larger revenue split + whatever bonuses NFL is piling on.

They dont do shit for free.

But doesn't do a damn thing to compensate the people in Kansas City who rely on that home game for business revenue. If it doesn't land the Chiefs a Super Bowl, in my opinion it's a piece of shit move for the city.

I thought that was the Jaguars' thing.

I've heard those too but KC is probably a little different. I don't really understand the benefit to NY or New Orleans. I get it for a city like KC. Showing you can land a Super Bowl and put on a good show is very good branding for a smaller city. It's worked really well for Indy.

Indy already had high end hotels. Adding a downtown stadium was icing on the cake.

KC is just too damn spread out and apparently, the people in the metro area like it that way because when there was talk of a downtown baseball stadium and any talk of light rail, people poo-poo the idea.

It'll be another years, if not 100, before KC hosts a Super Bowl. Let's just hope it doesn't take nearly that long for them to actually play in one.

I agree that it's a complete longshot KC gets it. Which is unfortunate, because most cities are trending against urban sprawl. My point was moreso that if they do end up getting the Super Bowl, it makes more economic sense for KC than it would for a NO or a NYC. Who knows... with their push for political conventions and Super Bowl, maybe that's the jolt the city needs to get some real infrastructure.

There is very little draw if any to host a SB in KC regardless of roof or not.

Surely you jest, sir. Why, many times have I said to myself, as I sat at my desk at home in New Mexico, "If only I could be in Missouri in the month of February"!

There's not much difference. I'd love to see a comparison of hotel rooms.

I was not that impressed with Indy.

I'm talking a little out of my ass here, but...

Indy is convention central. I imagine that city is well set up with rooms and infrastructure that we arent.

Look at who didn't have to give up their home game in almost every matchup...........

Giants
New England (twice)
Pittsburgh
Dallas
Denver

In the mean time Tampa has been the home team twice and the Jags THREE times.

tells us exactly what they think of us ROFLROFL

Yep, Oceans of Fun and Worlds of Fun do not draw well in the winter.

Been so long since I have been home, outside of the casinos, Westport, P & L district and the Plaza, what else is there to do in Feb.?

...and do you know who Europe's favorite teams are going to be? The Broncos, Cowboys, Giants, Colts, and ironically enough, the Patriots. (i.e. every team that wins and/or the NFL shoves down your throat)

A minority are going to give two ****s about the Chiefs/Jaguars.

Once again, if there's not even a sniff on hosting a Super Bowl, why are we giving up one of the best home field advantages in the NFL? I hate this shit more and more I think about it.
