According to OTC, an outright cut of Smith in 2016 reduces the cap from $36MM to $29MM versus the $37MM of designating him a June 1 cut.

However, the outright cut of Smith in '16 means KC has $70MM of cap in '17 versus $63MM if he's a June 1 release....

Clark needs to get Jerry drunk, tell him KC will eat a good portion of the contract and send him to Dallas.

I'm in my late 40's and have been a fan of this team going back to Steve Fuller, Bill Kenney, Blackledge taking a shotgun snap to the face, squeaking into the 86 playoffs only to get destroyed by the Jets, Marty-ball, Gunther, Vermeil and so on. I was willing to give AS a chance. He's shown me all I need to see and he reminds me almost exactly of a qb we had in 89 named Steve. No, not the tough SOB who played with a dislocated finger, but Steve Pelluer. We may not have hit rock bottom, but I can see it hurtling towards us at terminal velocity.
