Hopefully we won't lose power tomorrow. Once this storm passes I am probably going be working a lot of OT for a while. There hasn't been one that's hit this area since I moved down here over 15 years ago.

Yeah, I got a bunch of calls today wanting me to go work restoring stuff. They already had contracts in place for restoration. But, I already committed to starting a new contract on Monday.

I've heard it could strengthen to a category 5 before making landfall. It's going to be a mess regardless of what category it is though

We just got off of mandatory 60 hours weeks last week, and now we are getting this. The entire east coast of Florida is all Bellsouth/AT&T and is mostly aerial plant. Normally I would get sent out of town to work those areas but we are going to have our hands full here.

ouch. What are you going to do with all that extra money?

Thanks....I am a little more inland than some on here so I am in the area where the winds are not supposed to be as gusty.

And from what I've been told I am not in a flood plain.

I never heard any reports of it going to a Cat 5...

Stay safe boys and girls. I can't even imagine what that's like when it makes landfall.

By the time it gets to you, it's supposed to be cat 3. Still strong enough to cause major problems. Hunker down and stay safe

It really is scary how fragile our infrastructure is and how much we all depend upon it.

Anyone remember the 9/11 thread on here? All the while it was going on I was thinking to myself, "What if these dumb bastards would be smart enough to fly those planes into a nuclear or electric energy generation plant or a dam?"

well.. if you look into what the world trade center reps.. you'd know why they chose to do that as a main target.. plus the casualty of course

Very windy and steady rain right now. Actually howling outside a bit. Looks like the heavy stuff is going to miss us. Took some Advil and gonna head to bed.

My wife's uncle was planning to ride it out until this morning. They live on a barrier island in Melbourne.

Thankfully, they changed their minds after the cops drove through their neighborhood telling everyone to GTFO.
