Or maybe they want the swelling in his knees to go down before putting him back out on the field.
They have the luxury of not needing him with Ware, West and Smith as your RB's but this is more about him fighting swelling in both of his knees than an issue of BPA.
I wonder if they aren't forced to put him on IR if he keeps having both knees swell up.
Coach Andy Reid announced the decision on Friday, capping a week that saw Charles slowed by soreness in both of his knees. The Pro Bowl runner played only two snaps in last Sunday's win over the Saints and has just 40 yards off 12 carries since making his return to the lineup in Week 4.
