and they wanted him specifically to give up 2 picks inc our 4th, bit of a steep price for a 3rd round jump

we jumped 20 spots. that is not cheap in any rnd. We had picks to spare... we are going to pick some depth today and hopefully pick up a few vet free agents before tc.

He seems a bit like priest Holmes without the acceleration. Thing about priest was he wasn't just a vision back. When he saw a hole his burst was incredible.

Yep. Priest had that burst, which really helped him b/c he was not all that fast. Was fast enough though.

I dont like this pic only b/c of the cost of moving up to get him. Hunt seems like a solid 3rd roud RB, but not good enough to justify a 4th too. Just my opinion. Not gonna 2nd guess Dorsey though.

Didn't realize we gave up our 2 4ths for this slow midget.

That hurts !

Gotta trust dorsey on this.

I'd think we would have been better off giving our 3rd and both 4's to get Mixon.

That is what made Marshawn Lynch so effective.

I like the yards after contact. This is the kind of back I wanted.

I liked the guy from Tennessee in round two more, but at least we got a RB. If nothing else we will have depth at the position

Found this:

According to Pro Football Focus, Hunt was “one of the most elusive running backs in this draft class.” He forced 98 missed tackles last season, which was second-most in the nation

I like this pick a lot. He's not flashy, but he's extremely efffective after contact. He's got great balance and footwork.

Yeah, he's pretty blah, IMO.

Maybe a fine complementary back but I'd rather have someone who's truly different from ware. He just seems like a little bit bigger West who still isn't a threat to break one. I'd rather have Pumphrey late, especially with the cost of the trade up.

Don't love giving up a 3 and 4 for a guy that doesn't seem to have an outstanding trait but who's best attribute appears to be just not being bad at anything.

Level of competition can have a lot to do with that.

The MAC isn't exactly renowned for their fire breathing defenses.

Like all of these picks, the jury is out until camp/season....

I still remember a year ago thinking we had zero need for another scrub running back named Tyreek Hill.... yeah....

How is his balance and ability to make guys miss not pretty outstanding? Ball security also.

He looked like the same exact guy at the Senior Bowl, so I think that's bullshit.

Not true. Only gave up a 4th and a 7th.

Lots of good short running backs out there. Emmitt Smith, Maurice Jones-Drew, etc. Short can be an advantage at the position (Barry Sanders)

Kareem Hunt should see alot of playing time right away, unless Spiller redeems himself
