I’d trade a midrounder, but no more.

He’s aging.

Sassy Squatch 09-23-2018 09:55 AM

Neat.

This. We have a young offense. No need to mortgage the future on an old defense.

No. They suck because their drafting has been terrible. No commitment to the oline. None.

Yes but trading a 2nd rd pick for Sheldon Richard and getting only 1 year from him is a horrific move.

Big resource to waste

If it comes with an extension, I'd be down for this - he was on my list of interest for FA acquisition in the coming off season. I'd probably give up a second, but no more.

The Eagles are paying big bucks to both of their safeties, they follow an expensive safety cheap corner model and it got them a ring.

Offer a third and Lucas

That's my concern. I don't want to give up our first and second for Thomas.

Apples and oranges bro.

Yeah, which is why he's dicking off in Seattle. I don't think he gives one single **** where he lands, as long as he gets the financial security and a raise.

KC would have to quickly do a new deal as his current salary would be difficult to eat.

Team needs a safety. ....maybe Eric will take a pay cut. ...he hasnt earned his salary for a while now

Exactly my concerns as well. We have one that hasn't played in a while, and another that is due for a like hood big contract.

You are literally saying that giving up a high 3rd round pick is mortgaging the future. The only way that is a real argument is if you expect the Chiefs to collapse and that 2nd is at the top of the round.

No it’s not. The concept is a bold trade.

The problem is, Seattle rejected Dallas's 2nd rounder. I'm under the impression that Seattle wants more than what they should be asking, for a guy who's only on a 1 year contract and is nearing age 30.

If Thomas was on a 2-3 year contract, then I'd consider a 2nd and a late round, but that's not the case.

He absolutely is. Thomas is light years ahead of any safety we have not named Berry.

Hoover 09-23-2018 10:09 AM

Eagles are paying 12 million this year for both their safties. We are paying Berry 13 million and Sorenson another 5 million, and you guys want to spend more on the position?
