I understand wanting to keep the pass rush trio together, but at the same time the Chiefs have lead the league in sacks while the defense has still been god awful. losing some pass rush to improve elsewhere on the D can't make the defense any worse.

The nice thing about this draft for us, is that we need so much personnel help on D, that we can take best available on that side of the ball regardless of position. Any help in the defensive back seven helps immensely. If we can get 2-3 defensive starters (guys that start by their second year) out of this draft it will be a success and help us offset the inevitable loss of offensive fire power after our young guys get super expensive. Next year we can be a little more balanced with our draft if we hit this year, because we'll have to start working on the future offensive weapons as well. |
