The only silver lining should be that I don't have to watch Speaks every snap praying he shows some good reason to have traded up for him.

BTW, this is why you have depth. If there is one player in one position group that we could stand to lose for a chunk of time, it's Speaks on the DL. He was less of a DE and more of a DT at this point, and I'd rather role with Jones, Nnadi, Saunders, and KPass rotating in the middle.

You know I said Jones was a mid-2nd round pick (hardly said he 'wouldn't be good'; said he was very talented with motor and pad level issues) and I had Hunt at/near 1,000 All-Purpose yards as a rookie but said I like Kamara better and would've taken him.

You’re so full of shit. First you claimed you just didn’t like the Jones pick because we should’ve taken him in the 1st (5th year option), then when I quoted your post from Terez’s 1st round mock claiming Jones was an “awful” choice, you were nowhere to be found. Now your story has changed again.

Can someone revisit the rules on placing players on IR before the season starts and how many can be brought back.

The player that does that to Patrick Mahomes is the player that leaves the stadium in a body bag. Clark Hunt will call up TRUMP and order a drone strike on said player. They'll be picking up the pieces for days.

If it keeps Mahomes happy, make it happen.

Kamara wasn't available when the Chiefs picked Hunt.

Speaks was taken in the 2nd round after trading up. He's contributed nothing so far and likely won't contribute at all in year 2 either. This team has a problem with taking extremely raw DL in the 2nd or 3rd who aren't ready to contribute. At that point they end up having maybe a year or 2 of production, if any at all, before you have to pay them a veteran contract or cut bait.

Saunders is less of a concern because he was taken lower than Speaks and Kpass, but he still looks to be in the same category of player that likely won't contribute in their first year. I see a direct correlation between our subpar defense and our failed draft picks on defense the past 2-3 years.

But, back to the original point, Breeland Speaks ****ing sucks.
