Does it occur to you that a major reason why there are so many Native American mascots is because many in this country were trying to pay tribute to them? Please look at both sides. Acting like the other side's point of view is blatantly racist and unreasonable is being intentionally obtuse.
Why do you name your team something in the first place. You don't name your team something by mocking them or something you don't respect.
I grew up 5 minutes outside of a Native American reservation. I suppose it depends on who you talk to on who is offended, but a kid I grew up with was literally a fan of the Redskins because he felt it was a tribute to his people (which is actually even a mascot name I even find offensive & think that should be removed).
I'm sure everyone doesn't feel this way, but the point remains. Should we remove things in society every time someone doesn't like it? News flash. Some people don't like certain things. It's life.
