I hope that a team like Jacksonville Jaguars gives Tyrann Mathieu a nice big contract for as many years as possible. At least 3 years for $15 M per year.
Jaguars already spent $180 M yesterday. What's another $45 M? It helps our comp pick formula. |
This feels like a steal. We bought low on a guy who’s coming out of a toxic as hell culture. Imagine spending your entire career only knowing the Easterby way. He got into a fight with culley that he was obviously frustrated. That’s the only thing that concerns me is the very off chance that his benching was justified. But given culley and Easterbys incompetence I’m gonna give Reid the benefit of a doubt.

The Texans benched both Justin Reid and Zach Cunningham. Wouldn’t doubt Easterby and his bellichick stooge casserio decided he wasn’t a part of the right 53. Seems eerily similar to when pioli would tell his veterans we could find better players off the street. Will be fun to watch this guy play motivated again.

Mathieu is going to get a lot more than 3 for 30. Tracy Walker got 3 for 25. Diggs got 3 for 40. |
Justin Reid is a very good football player.
Playmaker. If you try to explain it in the traditional box vs free safety he's a box safety with + range. Can play free too but then is below average range wise. Ideally you pair him with a rangier, free safety. That's not Thornhill due to Juan's below average processing. In a salary cap free world you would see Badger AND Reid.. Because that's not happening I would try Sneed at free. Sneed has the instincts that could make him special there. And if that can't work keep drafting looking for a cheaper solution. |

You know who had limited range and struggled in deep coverage when he came to the Chiefs from the Texans? Tyrann Mathieu. Furthermore, the issues with Thornhill are physical not mental. We all saw how he played pre-injury. His processing isn't an issue, that's just dumb. |

Thornhill is not starter quality at NFL safety. You can pretend all you like but he's not. When Gabe Davis runs by him like a traffic cone in the playoffs it was not his physical abilities that were a problem. |

Let’s play a game. Which secondary do you think is better? Thornhill-Reid-Sneed-Fenton or Sneed-Reid-Fenton-Baker Because until we can actually acquire any corner of merit, that’s basically your depth chart. I think you’re going to have to get used to Thornhill. |
