It’s not something you see every day. And hearing it makes me fear the worst.

Seems like we have gotten some mixed news today. Optimism from the family, plus 50% oxygen instead of 100% from the machine. That all seems very positive. But if Damar's uncle is correct that there was a 2nd cardiac event at the hospital, that seems pretty troublesome. Really hope he is able to have big improvement in the coming hours and days.

off topic-the reporter used to be here. She was so-so but is perfect for CNN

I had read where they were able to cut his oxygen from 100% to 50% and were basically weaning him off of it to see how his lungs respond. I think lung damage has been the biggest concern but the info sounds positive.

Good hope he is doing better

Brain damage always the worry. Not just from lack of oxygen during arrest (no heart beat, no blood to brain, no oxygen) but after resuscitation, the body goes into hyperdrive and you get alot of inflammation.

Fever and swelling aren't good for neural tissue.

MahomesMagic 01-04-2023 09:46 AM

Conflicting reports on how many times they had to resuscitate.

Uncle says twice, marketing rep says once.

Good news as if it was caused by the collision, it should have been just one time to get it started again. A pre-existing heart issue, would have possibly caused more arrest. If the new keeps going in this direction, Damar might play again. What a great outcome that would be...

Do we know a time frame of when they will wean sedation and see what the damage is?

Don't think so. Seems like things are progressing in a positive direction, but that's about all we really know.

Uncle said twice, once on the field and once at the hospital. Marketing rep confirmed once on the field but did not say one way or the other as to what happened at the hospital. It's not conflicting reports, it's just different information.

I read this as Jordon specifically saying "twice" was incorrect.
