The lack of interest by the girl bunny, while the buck throws what has to be his hero **** is just about the funniest thing I've seen in at least a year.

He does his Clint Eastwood squint as he drives it home, and she's all, "that's it? I coulda been doing my knitting . . ."

D line is loaded with pass rushers. LB corps is stacked. Biggest question mark is DT and run defense.

They won't be a top 5 unit, but I expect top 12-15. Which is good enough if the offense can repeat its top 5 performance. I expect some regression there, but the team is built to compete with anyone. The Champs in Arrowhead is a tall task. KC should rightly be favored, but the game will be competitive. Throw in typical early season variance and I wouldn't be shocked to see an upset.

I won't claim to know much about the defensive talent that Detroit added, but they were #32 in opponent yards per play. 6.2. If they needed a huge improvement over the last 10 games to achieve that number, that's pretty awful.

A top 12-15 D seems a little optimistic.

It is nice to see some opposing fans in here who are not flaming dildos.

I think we’re going to see points go up on both sides but will never bet against bye week Andy Reid, especially when Cam Sutton and Emmanuel Mosley are the starting corners for the team Reid is facing.

I’m sure Chauncey Gardner-Johnson is hyped for this one, but he’s gonna lose his second straight to the Chiefs.

No, I'm a KC local.

But as an early teen, Barry Sanders became my favorite player and I found myself watching any Lions game that was televised until he retired.

Oh yeah, I came across that and was yep, that’s the one I’m using. It just hit a little differently than the other options.

I think we carve them up pretty bad offensively. I do think they have an improving defense but they will be relying on a rookie MLB and a rookie 3rd safety who will play a lot against how Reid likes to lineup. Two middle of the field rookies playing for the first time in NFL... in primetime... against PMII... sign me up.

I'm sure Lions fans are equal parts excited & nervous to see how their team looks. Goff better figure out how to play better on the road. His home/road splits are rough

2022:
HOME: 2,472 yards 65.8 comp% 7.7 Avg 23 TD 3 INT 109.3 Rating
AWAY: 1,966 yards 64.2 comp% 7.3 Avg 6 TD 4 INT 87.4 Rating

2021:
HOME: 1,900 yards 70.5 comp% 6.7 Avg 13 TD 3 INT 99.4 Rating
AWAY: 1,345 yards 62.7 comp% 6.4 Avg 6 TD 5 INT 80.7 Rating

Please forgive us. We used to be friendlier when fans of opposing teams who have been hapless in the same way that we were pre-Mahomes would show up. But then Bengals fans came around a couple seasons ago and we welcomed them with amusement, only for that team to become the most obnoxious and arrogant and their fans to follow.

I find it hard to believe anyone could ever truly hate the Detroit Lions. So we wish you well outside of the opener.

Actually I think the constant onslaught by Broncos and Patriots fans when they were good started it all. It got absolutely out of control in the 2019 Season AFCCG against Tennessee followed by Niner "fans" leading up to the SB. I do agree though that the Bengals were the worst. The most cringe worthy of all was the Cincy mayor and his comments last year.

First time poster here and a lifelong Detroit Lion fan (since '68). Have never seen the Lions on the road until this coming Sept. 7th. Was a season ticket holder from '77 to '84 and still go to two or three games a year. Us Lion fans have very thick skin and can take almost anything. Trust me, we heard it all through the decades.

Loved watching as a wee lad, those great KC/Oak games. Thats what got me hooked on the sport. Have family south of KC and have driven by Arrowhead. Looking forward to actually going to a game there, let alone a nationally televised opener. Curious to hear if the stadium is as loud as the old Silverdome during Barry's years was. Can't miss me, I'll be the old fart in Lions gear. If you're interested, please come visit our forum "Detroit Lions The Den". Hope this doesn't break a rule.

For the game, we didn't play any starters of last year's team during preseason. Having two joint sessions (NYG & Jax), the starters got their work there. Came thought relatively injury free. We have gotten deeper on all three levels of the defense, via a solid draft and key FA signings. Expect heavy DL/LB rotations, we are deep here. Fourth quarter will be interesting.

This is the first game in over two years with starting Oline (Decker, JJackson, Ragnow, BigV & Sewell). Also have a brand-new upgraded RB room, but feel we are weaker at WR than last year. Hopefully rookie TE LaPorta can fill the void. Should be a helava game! Of course, hoping for a Lion win and making it out of there alive.

GOOD LUCK!

Where in south KC is your family. Welcome to the board. There are a ton of people on here with a ton of knowledge about football, but you need a thick skin to survive. The mods are generally more tolerant than on most boards, but that freedom has caused some opposing fans to refer to this place as a cespool or Mos Eisley. Oh and good luck on the season, just not week 1.

While an upset is possible, so is a blowout win for KC. The Lions are up and coming, but as teams keep finding out KC is much better than they realized. They have hosted five straight AFCCGs (a record), been to three out of the last four SBs with a 2-1 record in them and were an offsides and poor half by the offense from being in five straight SBs. This is all while playing in the significantly more difficult AFC. No matter how much people predict the demise of KC, they continue to be the gold standard in the NFL.

I personally know 4 lions fans, and one that has passed never seeing them in a SB. RIP Nick. His nephew played for the Seahawks back when they played in the AFCW.
