What is more plausible?
A. Chris Jones is a butt ****ing moron and in a play to get more money, engages in a plan that will not only cost him significant money that cannot be recouped this season, and also cost him money on the tag next season, and his agent allows this to take place.
B. His agent gets in his ear and says to play hardball, he can get more, threaten a holdout until week 8, knowing full well that this plan is doomed from the outset when looked at by anyone with two moving brain cells.
Either way you look at this, the agent looks exceptionally bad here. Allowing Chris to engage in a game of chicken he had no shot to win, as well as costing him millions in fines that I can only imagine will be held out of any percentage the agent is owed fir this trash advice.
I simply cannot believe that Jones is that foolish, despite his trolling " I can afford it". Moreover, there's no way a professional agent fluent in the way these contracts work would ever consider this as a valid option, so I have no idea what the hell this is about, other than just possibly Chris Jones paying a couple million to dodge one of Andy's brutal training camps under the guise of a holdout.
Training camp sucks. Any vet will tell you, but Andy's are a special kind of wind building hell. It's far more believable to me that Chris wanted to fast forward to week 1 and use the contract as a front to do that, and if he could get Aaron Donald money, then he could come back to camp with a smile and a max deal than to believe he and his agent actually thought a holdout to week 8 would do anything but cost Chris a metric shit ton of cash.
