I'd almost make him take two strikes before you let him swing...I have more faith in a fluke walk than a base hit.

DeezNutz 05-05-2009 10:45 PM

Great game for the guys to battle back like that.

Team refusing to quit and expecting to win. Very, very cool.

KCCHIEFS27 05-05-2009 10:45 PM

I would go through and give rep to everyone, but I don't have the patience for that. Basically, if you give it to me I'll return the favor. But go Royals!!

Jethopper 05-05-2009 10:45 PM

Greatest catcher the royals have had since Brent Mayne

KCUnited 05-05-2009 10:46 PM

Yes he did. Tejeda, Wright and Cruz all kept us in the game

Jethopper 05-05-2009 10:48 PM

Crushing loss for CHI. Yessssssssss

tk13 05-05-2009 10:48 PM

That's the best part, we are actually playing like a good ballclub. We are winning games we probably shouldn't win. Like the near no-hitter the other night and then coming back tonight.

ChiefMojo 05-05-2009 10:49 PM

I hate having Ponson pitching! :(

CaliforniaChief 05-05-2009 10:49 PM

Harold Reynolds said it well....not directly quoting but along the lines of 'you measure a team by winning games that last year you would have lost.'

This one's big. In years past they roll over after falling behind by 4. Not this team.

Someone else mentioned it but I'm going to repeat it. For the questionable tactics, this team plays with guts and I give Hillman credit for that.

irishjayhawk 05-05-2009 10:50 PM

Out of rep to give. Whoops.

Dude, WTF? Did Trey **** your wife? If they win the central, will you still hate him. its OK, he probably doesn't shop at Walmart.

Nightfyre 05-05-2009 10:50 PM

I believe we've won every game i've watched this year. Do I risk my streak by watching ponson tomorrow?

ChiefMojo 05-05-2009 10:51 PM

Hillman made a error in my book, but in the end it was the perfect situation for us. Having Mitch in for his speed was a big plus!

I admit that I probably still will.

He's proven himself to be a complete ****ing moron.

That said, his team plays hard, so he has to get some credit for this. No question.

petegz28 05-05-2009 10:52 PM

Agreed with all of this

KcMizzou 05-05-2009 10:53 PM

Greinke's amazing, but we're also gonna need games like this to get anywhere.

That was one of those gritty, ugly wins. I like it.

Well it sure as shit can't hurt...

DeezNutz 05-05-2009 10:55 PM

Will this team start to get some national coverage? Sat. Fox, for example? Especially when Greinke is scheduled to pitch?

One would have to think so...

Jenson71 05-05-2009 10:55 PM

Royals have a great bullpen. LMAO WHAT IS GOING ON IN MY LIFE

KCUnited 05-05-2009 10:56 PM

Greinke, Soria, Callaspo...KC vs. Detroit would have to get some coverage.

MVP tonight.

alnorth 05-05-2009 10:57 PM

Here's the bad news: Ponson pitches tomorrow and 2 of our best pitchers are probably not available.

Not that I would have done it different anyways, if given the choice, I'd blow out the whole bullpen in a desperate grasp for a win tonight under the assumption that we are cooked tomorrow.

If God forbid Ponson actually doesnt suck, we may see Farnsworth and/or HoRam try to redeem themselves.

petegz28 05-05-2009 10:57 PM

Soria a little stiff from 3 innings in 2 days but nothng worrisome.

DeezNutz 05-05-2009 10:58 PM

I hate that they go away from the Hillman presser so quickly.

I want to hear his explanation for the 7th.

HoRam hasn't been too bad out of the pen.

800 posts on a Royals thread. Holy ****ing Shit.

DeezNutz 05-05-2009 10:59 PM

Based on available pitchers, on paper tomorrow night doesn't look promising...

But, **** it. We won tonight. Suck it, Sox.

Huge swing there. Literally and figuratively.
