After playing with a bunch of JV QB's for his entire career, I don't blame Bowe one bit for wanting out.

If we can't keep him, we NEED to trade him now. Even if Pioli dies and we don't trade him, we still end up losing him to FA.

KC ****ed up with Carr and Bowe. Totally botched it Pioli.

Bowe can be replaced. WR's like Bowe come out every year. He is a good player, he's nothing special.

WTF? I have no idea what you are talking about with your post. They do not come out every year, he is the best the Chiefs have had in at least 40 years.

He does not have negative energy, he is not Brandon Marshal.

I really don't understand the negative energy comment, either. He's gotta be tired of being stuck in an organization that is going nowhere. Who wouldn't be? But that's simply speculation. If he has "negative energy" he certainly isn't showing it publicly...

Maybe they'll feel sorry for us and throw in Jake Long, you know...just because we won't be able to resign our current LT anyway.

Molitoth 10-18-2012 08:10 AM

Saying that Bowe puts up good numbers with shitty QB's is irrelevant.

You could ALSO argue that with a great QB (that spreads the ball around) Bowe could have worse numbers than with the Chiefs.

A big reason Bowe has put up big numbers on this team is because Cassel goes to him as his #1 read whether he is covered or not, and has since 2009. Same to be said with Huard.

I firmly believe that Bowe has MORE catches due to our shitty QB situation.

To counter my point, an argument could also be made that he would have better YAC with a different QB that can get him the ball in the right spot instead of making him slide/jump/dive to catch it. So when you say better NUMBERS, you need to specify what numbers you are talking about.

I like Bowe, I think he can be great in this league... but he needs a fresh start with a new QB to do that. I think he's just going through the motions on this team, and that is why you are seeing dropped balls. I think he knows that this team isn't going anywhere and he's just in "fuck it" mode.

The fact is, a GOOD QB can make any WR look good because he can put the ball in his fucking chest or hands. Bowe has to make circus catches all of the time to bail out Cassel. In Aaron Rodgers world, he can put it on the back shoulder like nobody's business. A thrown ball that ANY WR can catch. We see WR's come and go through this league all of the time. They develop a certain relationship with the QB, they gain trust, and they get more attempts.

Tannehill could feel more comfortable throwing to guys he has been around this year and Bowe may hardly ever see the ball. We won't know until it happens.

You are seeing Brandon Marshall have another breakout year because he's back with Cutler. Even though Cassel sucks, there may not be another QB on another team that is SHITTY enough to throw ONLY TO BOWE, which would decrease his numbers.

My point is, while Bowe is a nice asset to ANY team in the NFL.... not having him isn't going to stop us from going to a super bowl once we get a LEGIT QB, a better GM, and fill some holes on our defense.

Larry Fitzgerald and Reggie Wayne still put up numbers without Manning and Warner.

Tell me about Reggie Wayne's production when he had Curtis ****ing Painter throwing him the ball

Jason Cole has been a Pioli spin machine for weeks now. His tweet about Bowe wanting out absolutely 100% assuredly came from Pioli.

And even if it wasn't already clear that Cole was a Pioli mouthpiece, Cole talked shit on Bowe in that radio interview he did in Miami. So you know it's not Bowe that Cole is getting stuff from.

It's Pioli bullshit. Don't buy into it.

I'm not gonna dig it up, but in this thread there is a tweet from someone saying that Bowe confirmed wanting out and even acknowledged Miami as a place he wouldn't mind going.

Chiefnj2 10-18-2012 08:56 AM

Why would this surprise anyone? Wasn't it a given that when they didn't reach a long term deal this last year it was over between the organization and Bowe?

tooge 10-18-2012 09:00 AM

what did the dolphins get for Marshall? I would think that would be about fair trade value for Bowe. Both are talented but have issues, and they are about the same age. anyone remember?

tooge 10-18-2012 09:04 AM

So Marshall was traded from Miami to the Bears for two 3rd round picks. Bowe is a bit less of a head case and wasn't just arrested. I'm thinking a second and third this year and I'd be happy with that trade. Get your QBOTF, get a new receiver or two, and then use the rest of our picks for other spots. Get rid of his whiny ass.

That's not saying much.....They do come out every year just about...it's just the Chiefs have addressed the WR position much like the QB position....they've used a TE for their #1 WR for over a decade. It's not like Bowe was a top 10 talent....he didn't "drop"....he was in the bottom part of the first rd.

Every receiver drops balls in critical situations, and Bowe doesn't do it any more than anyone else. Lots of players hold out, and who cares about saying stupid shit about bringing in girls? Was it a slow week on ESPN or something? Compare it to what Brandon Marshall has actually done, and that's pretty clearly a dumbass comparison.

Not holding it against Bowe, but... lots of players hold out for more money.

Lots of players say "I'd love to come back and play here" when doing interviews in their home area.

But the issue isn't so much Bowe, it's Pioli. Anyone who takes Cole's tweet at face value reacts with "Well, **** it, may as well get what you can for him". Basically resigning themselves to a trade, meaning the outrage at Pioli for doing it would be lessened.

It may be true that Bowe wants out. If it was, I question why Pioli would need one of his stooges to leak it. The truth should come out on its own.

But assuming it is true, then for some reason Pioli wants people to know. Presumably that reason would be to lessen the fans' outrage. And what I'm saying is if that's what Pioli wants, let's not give it to him. Don't fall for his games.

We are 1-5 and competing for the worst team in the league. I can see it now:

1) Pioli trades Bowe for 2nd round pick.
2) Pioli pimps idea of how attractive the 1st round QB's are.
3) Pioli takes top 5 pick and trades down, selects DE/OL and takes QB in round 2.
4) Pioli states how he addressed all needs by trading down, adding depth to ol/dl, and QB.
5) Acts confused when 30,000 fans show up angry with torches...

There's absolutely no reason why this has to be a "smart business decision."

We had a pile of cash waiting to throw at our elite players. Carr was too pricey. Bowe is apparently too pricey. When does this shit end?

For all we know Pioli is saying with this trade, "Okay, gang. Let's regroup. We'll retain Albert, Colquitt, Dorsey, and keep the true fans who love linemen and kickers."

Again. What are we looking at? Two second rounders? Yeah, that's something for nothing if Bowe is apparently really wanting out (which I doubt... he probably just wants to get paid). But geez, if we draft our QB, wouldn't it be ****ing nice to have Bowe instead of Baldwin, Breaston, and a midget?

Hearing that Bowe "badly wants out" helps minimize the anger. Makes people think "Well, if he's not staying, we gotta get something for him". As demonstrated repeatedly in this thread.

This.

Yep.

There is more than 1 side to a contract. But of course you knew that.

Carr wanted to be in Dallas. Gonna put a gun to his head and force him to sign the contract?

Yup.

Players get old and they want to win. When they spend their careers on a piece of crap team, they want to move elsewhere... it's as simple as that.

The players aren't as loyal as the fans, and they shouldn't be.

If I grew up a Chiefs fan my whole life and got drafted by the Raiders, I would be fucking miserable. (but yes, I would collect my paycheck until my contract was up).

Pioli: Hi, I'd like to introduce you to Cassel. This is me not giving a **** about the fans.

I still think the "Carr always wanted to play for the Cowboys" thing was just damage control. He seemed like he wanted to stay in KC before that and probably would have if Pioli hadn't low-balled him.

Bowe has the same goal?... Getting the hell out of KC.

By all accounts, no side budged in negotiations and Bowe held out after being tagged and the deadline for contract talks passed.

This.

We we're granted a cap exception.

We HAD EXTRA to spend this year after spending under the year before.

Where did we spend it?

Not on Carr. Not on Bowe. Albert isn't signed long term. Dorsey isn't signed long term.

As I understand it cuts this year don't count towards that number. Accelerated bonuses don't count.

Even with the signing of our wilted flower at RT and our highly overpaid CB we still didn't get near that "gifted" cap number.

No because it makes no ****ing sense for Pioli to leak that info.

It makes sense for Bowe in every reason.

Pioli has stood behind Cassel for 4 years. You think he gives a **** about your opinion?

If Pioli doesn't care about public opinion, then why is he doing damage control across the KC media? It absolutely makes sense for him to put this on Bowe.

Did you sleep through Pioli's media blitz yesterday?

Probably because this team is awful and Eric Winston opened his fat ****ing mouth.

You think Cassel isn't going to start against the Raiders?

Bowe's actions and twitter account stated he wanted to be a Chief this offseason. That indicates that he had a contract number in mind. He could have been paid and he would have stayed.

Maybe the price was too high, but we don't know what that price was. To speculate on that number means placing my trust in either Pioli or Bowe. Guess which one I'm NOT going to trust.

What were you expecting him to say?

This team has been dog shit ever since Bowe entered the league, not just when Pioli arrived. He can leave the Chiefs and get paid elsewhere and actually have fun playing the game because he can choose a winning team.

You're having trouble keeping your own narrative straight. Pioli doesn't care what the fans think, but the team is awful and Winston foisted a pr nightmare on him so he had to go talk to the media and try to straighten things out with the fans. Cassel may start, but what difference does it make? There is no real viable alternative.

Pioli possibly trading Bowe isn't going to be popular with fans, one way to soften the blow is to leak that Bowe hates KC, can we at least agree that's a fair assumption and not the impossibility you purport it to be?

Do you think Pioli would have made the rounds in the KC media if Winston didn't open his mouth?

Pioli cares about 1 person.... The man signing his check.
