U said upside. Maclin is better today. He is better than Keenan Allen today. Will he be by the end of the year? No. Keenan has Phillip Rivers.

Fact 3: Maclin is overrated and injury prone. He's not even a top 20 WR.

Fact 4: lets not play Charles because he might get injured. Just ask inmen a healthy cCharles on the bench is much more valuable than an injured Charles on the bench

If you can't figure out where a bump occurs in a thread by now, not sure you'd understand even the rudimentary words and phrases necessary to explain it you at this point.

so that offense inflates numbers when it fits your argument but last year when you were talking about how great Mark Sanchez was because of his numbers in Philly compared to Alex Smith I never heard you talking about inflated numbers due to being in a specific offense

convenient

You're right its not close. Its exact. Don't give JC the ball because he might get hurt. If he gets hurt our season is done. Its too bad the chiefs are the only team in the league that is forced to have a 1 man lineup. He's our best player. Get him the ball as often as possible. And if he gets injuredI suppose we will do what every other team does. Put another player in. Its football 101 smart guy. And i use that term extremely loosely. Like a woman who would sleep with you loose.

QB is different. Especially in Alex's case. He couldn't play in a pass-first system because he would be completely exposed.

It's very true.

In games where he had over 35 attempts: 6-18

Eagles QBs last two years 35+ att:

Foles: 4-4
Sanchez: 2-2

Maybe next time, do a little research.

Slick burn, son.

Hootie 04-04-2015 03:25 PM

Ha. Weren't you just arguing that teams don't score many points against us because we have Alex Smith? The Eagles offense is designed to run way more plays than an Alex Smith offense. It inflates numbers. Their QBs are supposed to throw 30-40 passes per game. The only time Smith would ever throw 35+ would be in catch up games. Of course his record will reflect that. You just pwn yourself every ****ing day it's embarrassing.

You really think Alex could succeed in that offense? He couldn't. He needs to slow games down to be effective. I mean, do you even watch Chiefs games?

You already recanted on your dumb little "Alex is a top 12 QB!" crusade so just come off it. In six months you'll be hating on him with the rest of the board.

threebag 04-04-2015 03:30 PM

This is a good thread for you Hootie. You aren't one of the top 3 dumbasses in this thread.

Pasta Little Brioni 04-04-2015 03:31 PM

PFF said he was top 12. You know the site you magically don't quote anymore.

Hammock Parties 04-04-2015 03:33 PM

PS - Alex doesn't always throw 35+ in catch up games. He had a few 35+ games he won in 2013 that we weren't playing catchup.

That was during our fraudulent 9-0 streak, though. That's the only time he can win that kind of game.

See the playoff game for example. LMAO

Pasta Little Brioni 04-04-2015 03:35 PM

Yeah 400 total yards and 41 points isn't enough to win games

Wasn't his fault. Just a fact of life though. If you want to throw the ball around a lot, Alex Smith isn't your friend.

At the end of the day, I don't care about top 20 recievers.

I am worried about fit.

Among those that you list, there's only a couple who fit Alex Smith close as well as Maclin does.

I completely agree. But maclin is a much better option than Avery and Bowe for that type of thing. Cross routes, slants, hooks.

The combination of speed and precision that Maclin brings gets him Alex Smith open.

Now, clearly, Calvin Johnson in't someone that I'm going pass just because of Maclin, but Smith would not utilize Johnson as effectively as Stafford, and probably lower his production by about 300-500 yards.

I don't see Maclin's production drop as steep.
