I'm skimming this thread, but WTF is up with Reva being impaled by a lightsaber and then basically is just back up and running full speed pretty much same day except now it hurts if she gets punched there? Did I fall asleep for the part where she gets magically healed?

And Obi-Wan walking away after kicking Vader's ass is pretty damn hard to get past. Obviously they can't have him actually kill Vader, but find some way for Vader to escape, or at least some pressing, urgent need that requires Obi-Wan to go save Luke or something. Don't walk away from a monstrous villain who is terrorizing the whole galaxy and is ready to be finished off.

And the Vader trash talk that was mentioned in this thread was yeah, pretty comical. Kinda goes back to being Anakin, the little trash-talking bitch.

I can't get over Princess Leia being 10 years old during the show.

That kids legs still looked bowed from diapers, like she's running while wearing Pull-ups or something. Looked like a dwarf Tom Cruise running around in every scene.

Vader not killing Reva didn't bother me. We saw straight from him that he considers her completely insignificant. It's not a stretch that he'd not give enough of a shit to make sure she's dead. There's also the possibility that he wanted to keep her alive for some unknown purpose.

And lightsabers instantly cauterize wounds so if he didn't hit any vital organs, it's not shocking that she survived.

How do you stab a two-inch wide hole through the middle of somebody's torso and miss all their vital organs? I guess I can buy that she didn't bleed to death but come on with the organs all being missed.

What is the general availability of bacta tanks? Do ordinary people have them in their homes? If not, are they widely available for appointment or on a first-come basis? Is it expensive? And what are the limits as to what they can heal?

Yeah...I'm not sure that Reva would have access to one. Highly unlikely she could afford one on her own, and at that point she really wasn't affiliated with any groups that likely would have given her access to one. And there's still the question of whether it could heal probable major damage to several internal organs.

It pains me that we've become so numbed by dumb movies that we can be persuaded by maybe 20 minutes of awesome nostalgic action spread over 6 episodes, to excuse for 6hrs of absolute shit writing and character development. Similar to the latest Jurassic Park, people excuse a total shit film that actually cost hundreds of millions of dollars to produce, because hey it provides a few great action moments. And do it INSTANTLY. We're not talking about she re-emerges months later. She gets stabbed mid-torso, lungs, heart, all the good stuff right there with a big gaping hole cut through, and basically hops up and goes back on the aggressive at full strength. That wound should be instant or at the very least near-instant and total death. They just skip right over it like it didn't even happen. This show was awful.

Or better yet, it was all a dream. Vader was just day dreaming about killing Reva and fighting Obi. None of that actually happened.

Looks like she was stabbed in the lower right abdomen. Vader prob shanked her right in the gallbladder. We don’t even need that shit to survive, do we? The lightsaber cauterized that baby up instantly and she was mostly good to go.

Okay so she might not be dead, but she'll need to at least take it easy with eating fatty foods for awhile.

I like to just pretend she's not actually a human. With her species, her abdomen is just a fat storage. All her vital organs are in her ass cheeks.

What should have happened:

1) the Vader/Reva fight scene and then we don't see her for a long time

2) Vader chasing Obi-Wan and Leia in space until Obi-Wan veers off with no cuts to other storylines

3) Vader fighting Obi-Wan on the planet with no cuts to other storylines

4) Obi-Wan goes back to the refugees and escorts them to safety

5) Obi-Wan gets a precog force flash that Luke is in trouble and begins the long journey to Tatooine

6) start the Reva going after Luke story with a more physically broken Reva, Owen and Beru tell Luke where to hide away from the house if Reva shows up, when Reva shows up she can barely move but she attacks with force moves and still traps them in the house, they refuse to give up the location of Luke after being beaten but she reads it from their minds and goes after him, the rest of the story is the same

Seems like we're building the proper consensus at this point.

This show was not good. It didn't hold up to the standards set in Mandalorian in terms of storytelling or effects. And while Mando did get a little 'bottle episode' heavy in S2, Season 1 was superb.

With a far more interesting property, that's what we should've expected out of Obi-Wan. We got nothing close to that.

It's okay to be happy to see Ewan back in action but also acknowledge that this show - again - didn't do him or his character justice.

This was, for the record, one of the dumbest parts in the history of the franchise.

Any of y'all ever pick up a rock? Like, maybe one even the size of a basketball? ****ers are heavy. Now pick up one the size of a small table. Many of those are gonna be a couple hundred pounds.

So let's be polite here and say it was a 100 lb rock moving at about 40 mph. And I think I'm being generous there as it was likely heavier and faster.

That's gonna be right at 150 kN of force at impact (since evidently doesn't actually get knocked backwards at all to absorb the energy so it's all imparted directly into his body).

Or, y'know, about 32 THOUSAND pounds. Vader gets hit with ONE of those rocks at that speed and it's about 16 tons of force. That rock over Obi's left shoulder probably weighs 500+ pounds so adjust your math accordingly.

This show was dumb - unquestionably dumber than it had to be.

The rocks being thrown was the best part of the episode by far for me. Finally Obi-Wan being a badass on a level we've never seen. And it works because I was assuming Vader was using the force to mitigate this damage significantly. He can stop Jedi light sabers with his mind, and pull down a space ship that is trying to take off from the ground, so he can probably use those same skills to deflect a lot of damage. Cause yeah, obviously if he just "takes" it he'd be completely pulverized.

FORCE shields, brah.

They could have saved a bunch of money and just put out the big duel between Obi-Wan and Vader. That was really the only great sequence in the show.

But I was entertained.

Like i said, i prefer my Vader dream sequence.

In episode 7 Vader wakes up and it was all a nightmare. Reva brings him breakfast in bed and gives him a handjob. The end.

It's hard to be badass when your main supervillain has a helmet shaped like a penis and a box on his chest that looks like it was made in 3rd grade science class, and your bad ass super heroes dress like they're homeless.

Did the series have some silly/ridiculous stuff? Yes.


Did I enjoy watching it? Yes.


Did I pay anything to watch it? No. (we use the in-laws' D+ login)

I finally finished watching the final three episodes. If the first three had been as good as the last three, this would have been their most popular show.

Instead, they likely pushed a ton of people to stop watching, as I did, with the poor quality first three episodes.

This guy. Watches show where people use the force to throw rocks around and we watched Vader use the force to stop a light saber. Yet this guy can't imagine a FORCE based shield. Especially after seeing Obi Wan use the force as a shield to stop Vader's avalanche of rocks.
