I’d personally keep O’Neil, but I’m not sure if FO would be keen on keeping him as his price goes up with arbitration. That leaves LF and RF as possibilities for Walker to play instead of being locked in at 3B or 1B and blocked by Arenado or Goldschmidt. As it stands, the only guys in front of him now are Dickerson and Noot, which I’d argue he will be a better option than both moving forward. |

Just heard on tonight’s broadcast of the game that Carlson was told by the Cardinals over the weekend that he was going to remain a Cardinal.
Really Mo? Willing to trade Walker but not Carlson for Soto? |

I haven't attended a game in years, at Busch or Wrigley. Every time I'd attend a game, they'd ****ing lose. I don't even watch them on TV anymore. |

They're somebody else's problem now. Congrats to the prospect hoarders and the BFIB who are always so concerned about Bill DeWitt's pocketbook. Once again, Bill's vacation houses won out over the pursuit of a championship. I'm sure he'll let you look at some pictures if you google them. So you've got that going for you. I'm done with 'em. This franchise is what it is and I want no part of it. |
Not getting Soto is a disappointment but this is still the best lineup we’ve had in awhile. MO needs to quit being cheap with starting pitching if anything. Walker and Winn look like the real deals but we’ll see.

Stop with the "Mo needs to X" stuff. It's not happening. You can either accept this organization for what it is - which is to say you can embrace their approach of the last 10 years. Or you can vote with your feet. I'm doing the latter. I'm done giving these people the benefit of the doubt. When someone tries to tell you who they are - listen to them. Have fun telling yourself what Mozeliak needs to do while they TELL you they are only looking to sneak into the playoffs. With the expanded playoffs, they only care about winning about 86 games and doing just enough to convince you that NEXT time they'll be right there in the mix. But they won't be. Because this is who they are. |
I agree with you DJ. I’ll clarify by saying this is the first time in awhile I really like our offense and collection of young position players, so losing Soto doesn’t bother me. And it’s a damn shame Moe won’t seriously fix the starting pitching going forward.

Disappointed about not getting Soto but was pleasantly surprised by the two pitcher trades. It wasn’t the usual dumpster fire like it usually is.

But they did eventually trade Rasmus for Jackson, Dotel and Rzepczyinski which was partly key to winning it all in 2011. LaRussa isn’t here to sprinkle pixie dust on an Edward Jackson this time though.

Also used a frozen bottle of water to roll around with my feet. Tight calves cause tension on the Achilles and pull on the plantar fascia causing this. Working the calves and Achilles to loosen and stretch the tendon is usually the remedy. Im surprised he has been out this long, must have a real shit case of it. |
The problem is every time some turd slap dick like Nootbar gets hot, MO and the BFIB literally jerk off at the thought of having a cheap, "grinder" taking up a spot.
I have seriously seen posts justifying passing on Soto because Noot (this dumbass fan base and their nicknames) is "hot". **** it I'm with dj |

90% of the posters said it would end like this. And then you’re disappointed you didn’t get surprised. This way seems to be okay with the vast majority of the fans. We seem to be in the small minority.
My son is a 5th generation Cardinals fan. Roots run deep. As pissed as I am at Mo and Dewitt’s cheap ass ways, I’m not walking away. After all, Mo and the old man have to die someday like we all do. |
I’m so ****ing tired of Jordan Hicks.

At least Quintana pitched well tonight....although Jordan Hicks is trying his damndest to cough up the lead.

Hicks throwing a 101-103 straight fastballs with too much plate doesn’t play in 2022. Batters have caught up to that speed. |
Jordan Hicks isn't very good

I'm just hoping we win one versus NYY; another more is a bonus. Let's see how Carp does outside those walls at NY.

Are we embarrassed? Yanks haven’t won a title since 09.

Didn't think we'd be going for the sweep tomorrow.

Yankees are good but they aren't that good. I was a little surprised some of you where really worried about them. Royals had them on the ropes all that last series.

We win the Voit trade. Struck out 2/3. Held a 1-0 lead. Yankees may not be playing like they were at the first of the year. But, that’s 3 quality hitters and 1 is a lock for MVP.

Ryan Helsley is unavailable tonight after closing yesterday. Gallegos threw five straight hangers to Judge. He got so lucky.

Hoped for one. We got two and three series win. Just going to enjoy today’s game for what it is

Coors is just a house of mirrors; it doesn't actually tell you anything. Sweep, get swept, no matter. It's just throwing darts and hoping nobody gets hurt. |
And now it's 8-5. Because Coors.

Meh. He got popped by some pretty lame ass AAS that is in prescription medications. He initially appealed the ban but then dropped it after he found out it was his **** up. Whether it was ringworm medicine or not, I dont think he was actually trying to cheat. He ****ed up and took something without running it through all of the avenues available to these guys to cross check and make for sure its safe to use and he's gonna pay for it. Lucky for him he's going to pay for it at the right time in his contract and not later down the line. See ya in 80 games.

The 'maturity' bend to the comments from the front office and even his teammates suggest that they are putting this on 'stupid and immature is going to be stupid and immature' - yet they're simultaneously worried that same stupidity and immaturity could be chronic. It's worth speaking to the rumors surrounding his dad's time in St. Louis and even a bit in Montreal. Evidently Senior had a real drug and maturity issue and it's what led to his collapse. It wasn't until he hit his 30s that he kinds screwed his head on straight. Granted, Junior isn't Senior; sins of the father and what not. But it's a datapoint that would be a little disconcerting if I'm Preller, et al. |
There's no doubt he's immature as ****. Hasn't he missed quite a bit of playing time because of a couple of motorcycle accidents? I'm sure after the first one they probably told him to lay off and then he did it again. His response to people asking him about his motorcycle accidents was "Which one?" If someone agreed to pay you $340M and they tell you to knock off the stupid shit you do it. Christ, players will shave their face to play for league minimum on the ****ing Yankees.
|
Yeah - I saw the 'which one' comment and just rolled my eyes.
And frankly, getting called out by Manny Machado a couple years back was an eye opener as well. Machado ain't known for his team-first attitude and if you've set him off, you've taken things a bit too far. I also thought his refusal to have his shoulder fixed last year was an issue. That season was over and he has a chronic issue in that shoulder that CAN be fixed (I believe it's the same problem Tarasenko had w/ the Blues). And if it isn't, he's going to be at risk for future issues there. But he refused to have it done and, IMO, has left future seasons at risk. Tatis has a lot of growing up to do for sure. |
Pujols coming through big today. Have to say I thought his signing to be an afterthought and nothing more than a ride on the nostalgia train.
Carlson had a huge HR as well. One inning short of a sweep. |
