Why can't Veach draft top 6 edge rushers?

As good as Garret is, I think KC was still the winner of that draft.

Overrated Brown jr

The Watts and Garretts of the world are quick enough to chase Burrow down from behind when he and they are both sprinting full speed. That's why he has so much trouble with them. With Chris Jones Burrow is JUUUUSST about 3/4 of a step faster than him so if he sees him coming and has any distance whatsoever he can get away. Garrett chases him down like a wolf attacking a rabbit.

Crazy to think they could have got both. Would’ve been the draft haul of the century. At the very least could have landed pre-diddles Deshaun for a rookie contract. Instead they got cute with money ball and ended up with jabril peppers/deshonne Kiser/Njoku. That is an even worse trade than trubisky because nobody would’ve considered either Watson or mahomes a reach at their spot

Your remember when posters said Jones was on that level? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Jones is good. He’s not that good though. I don’t believe that he’s even on a HOF track yet.

He's on a HOF track at this point, needs to finish with a few more years.

But Yeah, I think he's as much of a disruptor as those guys.

That’s honestly where he belonged.

MVP is a stats award. His are always great but not elite

I guess it depends on the source. From what I saw on Pro Football Reference it showed the average HOF DT having a score of 105 and Jones was at 43 and change. Now how accurate they are, I do not know. But if they are pretty accurate, he isn't even half way.

JPH83 09-12-2023 10:52 AM

If the Bengals have a problem this year it's not OBJ, it's that the entire line is pants, and in particular the LG. OBJ has gone from having Thuney next to him to having Cordell Volsen. I do think that Browns DL is elite and they won't be half as bad down the road. But it's crazy it's STILL a potential problem for them.
