The good news is Mizzou basketball is right around the corner. Hermit and Co. ready prove all the haters wrong...

If that's good news, then I would hate to see your idea of bad news.

Desperation, imo, re-instating Mauk.

Nope, they can't "fix" the offense's production until the O-line gets better, and they have a threat in the backfield again. Maybe next year.

It's bullshit reinstating him. What positives could he possibly bring to the team at this point? The book is out on the guy, both on the field and off of it. This season is toast, let Lock stay in there and gain valuable experience for next season.

The offense as a whole is a cluster****. They need to change the scheme to better fit the players they have, rather than forcing them into a system they don't excel with.

The future of Mizzou football and basketball is looking very dark.

All Lock is getting right now is his ass kicked.

If you throw me out there at QB, I'd get about as much valuable experience as Lock is getting out of this. He has nothing working for him, he's not progressing and the only thing he's learning right now is bad habits.

You're absolutely right - the season it toast. So send Mauk back out there to take the rest of these bullets. We'll end up with Lock staring at pass rushers just like Gabbert did if we keep sending him out there to die.

This idea that simply taking snaps is going to benefit Lock in a season where absolutely nothing is working offensively is folly. He can't learn anything from this. The offense can't get in any kind of rhythm so how exactly is he learning to operate it?

He never should've been in there to begin with. Mizzou fans are always looking at the next guy and they're invariably disappointed. Lock will be no further ahead next season than he would've been with Prinz taking the snaps this year and he'd have an extra year of eligibility for his troubles. People were way too high on Lock. He's a nice QB but he's not Josh Rosen - he's not even Blaine Gabbert. He's roughly the same caliber prospect that Mauk was and it was foolish for the staff to dump this shitstain of a season in his lap.

The future of Mizzou football looks great. This is just a down year.

Yeah, good points. But I just really rather would have seen them shoot Mauk out of a cannon away from Columbia. Internally, I guess it is common sense to save Lock from this disaster of a year, but Mizzou is going to get flamed for bringing Mauk back from those outside the program, and maybe rightfully so.

We'll see how it all plays out I suppose, currently and down the road.

I really hope you're right. I think we have some great young talent, what worries me is not having any WR's or O-lineman, that was the key to our success. The RB position will eventually be fixed but I'm worried that Lock won't have many targets to throw to in his time here. Brown shows potential but he has way too many drops. Who is going to step up?

Salvage a bowl game lol

Making a bowl game and getting six weeks of extra practice and development would be big for a team this young.

So yeah, making a bullshit bowl game is actually pretty valuable this year.

If they manage to win 6 games and get invited to some mid December bowl, I will consider this season a flying success.

I just saw a thread on the SEC rant Mizzou board, there is a rumor going on that Justin Smith has quit his assistant volunteer position in the weight room. A family friend that works for Justin, said Smith was criticizing Ricker on how poor the offensive line has performed.

Ricker definitely needs to go right the **** now. Good on Justin for calling a spade a spade.
