Also wouldn't get to negative over some of these CB's getting beat. Maclin is a legit top 10 WR and Hill is probably the fastest player in the NFL. Guys are gonna get beat.

He's been making noise going all the way back to OTA's. That was just one practice you attended, correct?

Yes.

We were watching the DL work during position work and were right next to the port a potty and Dee Ford used it 5 times during practice and after the third one I asked him if he was just trying to get out of practice and he chuckled at it. Then came back 2 more times.

He didn't practice aggressively and didn't look different to me.i hate saying that because I was one of the only guys on here wanting us to draft him and have been on his side...but I don't see a guy that's gonna be majorly improved.

I hope I'm wrong.

What do you think this is HS football? I highly doubt he was trying to get out of practice.

You read way too into things sometimes. I think it's obvious he was probably sick.

I've never been to a practice that he looked like he was as active as he seemed to be at auburn.

The whole first 1/4 of the season could hinge on his ability to finish plays and play the game with aggression. We need him to be a difference maker, not a lackadaisical guy. He needs to step up his violent/aggressiveness to improve against the run and finish better.

Someone did say today they've been running successfully at ford. I'm skeptical as I don't remember who said it

I don't disagree with any of that.

This man gets it (at least on the football field). Has there been a practice without him making several plays?

March, Wilson, DJ and Alexander were doing their thing and making plays.

Ford was still the guy standing around the pile and I can't remember him making a play all day.

It was just one practice, but he sure didn't look like a changed man.

The way he responded to me from 5 feet away made me think he was hung over and he said "I need to drain the lizard"...hopefully he had a stomach bug, but I was very unimpressed with him.

I don't think it's a coincidence that that's the only practice I've actually heard any of the reports say he had a bad day overall.

Given the information at hand, I think it's safe to say he wasn't feeling well and had a bad day at the office.

Fair enough but traditionally Smith has relied on his defenses heavily stats back that up. I think this offense will slightly improve PPG but has the potential to be a great ball control offense. I think that's exactly what we'll need til mid season when Houston comes back and some of the younger guys are more experienced.

But Alex has always shown that if need be he can add more if needed. See the Indy playoff game if you want an example.

Control the clock with ball control, and finish with touch downs.

5 trips to the bathroom in one practice is a stomach bug or similar. Kids that young don't pay that big a price the next day after a night out boozing.

So, scoreboard control?

We did a damn good job of moving the ball, we just settled for FG's way too often.

We need to be more efficient in the red zone, and more big plays sprinkled in.
