The reality of the situation is this, we are lucky he didn't start the season on IR because it still gave us 2 IR designated to return spots to use during the season and we are going to be using both of those. ON SAFETIES. So Berry not being placed on IR is actually going to help long term, assuming he plays this season which you should assume since he is in fact NOT on IR.

Here's another option. We'll call it "injured reserve".
The injured-reserve list is for players who suffer a serious injury that will keep them off the field for a long time — at least six weeks. Teams can now return two players from injured reserve once he's spent at least eight weeks on the inactive list.Jul 26, 2018
