If your last name is Tinkle, you should just go all out and own the shitty name by calling yourself, "Dick"

Dick Trickle had the right idea

ROFL

Seriously though. I'd be pissed.

Bragg is showing signs of being a good passer.

And pretty good on the boards.

Why are they reviewing the Selden foul? No contact to the face. Got the ball. WTF?

With as slow paced as Oregon State is keeping this game, an 11 point lead is much bigger than it seems. Looking like a likely loss here. Another awful effort for a December Sprint game. I don't know what it is about this place, it takes away all their energy.

WTF? You guys during a game......

Do you guys even realize that KU may be the best team in the NCAA?

Did you watch the awful first half? Have you seen this team play at Sprint in December over the years (losses to UMass and Davidson among others)? A loss was very much a possibility. Credit to them for playing well in the 2nd half and Self making some adjustments to force OSU to pick up the pace, but there was nothing there for 20 minutes of that game. That won't work against a better team than OSU (and there are a great many of them).

They're not. Teams that struggle to beat teams like Harvard and Oregon State at home are not that. They're probably not even the best team in their conference right now (that would be Oklahoma).

It's college basketball. Things turn around quick. The doom and gloom early on in games I just don't get. But, if it helps you to vent, knock yourself out.

Wayne Selden has officially turned the corner. He's just a good jump shooter. He should really consider setting up behind the FT line and jumping into his shot. But, he's taking it to the rim a little better and when he is set he's a lethal 3 point shooter. Wish he wouldn't have got fouled hard on that tomahawk alley oop attempt, that would have been a SC Top 10.

Devonte Graham reminds me a bit of Chalmers on defense. Both were really not great on the ball defenders, but he's going to be the best guy at stealing the ball since Chalmers. Has great weakside recognition and great hands.

Frank was Frank. He's been our most consistent player this year. Thank god we have that guy on our team, what a player.

Perry Ellis played soft in this one, obviously. I'm afraid he's hit his ceiling. Still a nice player, but is a bad matchup against alot of teams.

Loved Hunter Mickelson getting some minutes. You see why he's so valuable. He can hit the J, he can block shots, and he has the best hands of all of our bigs and can just get in there and poke the ball away. If he can improve his rebounding, which isn't as bad as it seems, he needs to be out there. Glad to see Traylor and Lucas not getting minutes. I hope this continues.

Carlton Bragg is a stud. Rebounded the ball great tonight. He was a little gassed I think, getting more minutes than he's used to and missed some jumpers. But was very active and he's got to be the best passer of our big men. He had at least 3 or 4 dimes that led directly to scores.

Actually, things sometimes don't turn around that quick in this sport, especially with a team as slow paced as Oregon State (which was the real point of the post). KU put themselves in a pretty tough spot with their awful effort and played pretty much a perfect half to get out of it.

Now, if you wanted to see me really vent, you could have picked any number of Perry Ellis posts in here.

But, that's justified.:)

What did I miss?

Did KU beat a shit opponent or lose to one?

BWillie 12-12-2015 11:24 PM

I'd just like to take this time to thank Bill Self for playing Michelson and Bragg the most minutes (over Traycus)

I didn't think he had it in him. Way to go. Good things happened when Mick was on the floor.

Prison Bitch 12-12-2015 11:27 PM

Shout out to Sirhan for letting me watch.

Down 13 at half after playing some horrid horrid ball.

Won by about that after playing like they should have.

Interestingly enough, the second half minutes went like this.

Mason - 20 Min
Graham - 20 Min
Selden - 20 Min
Ellis - 20 Min
Mickelson - about 10 Min
Bragg - about 10 Min.

That's not sustainable, but he was definitely sending a message.
