You can't have it both ways. You can't admit that Clark is not holding Andy and Dorsey back from either riding and dying with Alex or getting someone else, then turn around and hold the failures of the 90s against the current regime.

Outside some random secretaries and hot dog vendors, the 2016 Chiefs have zero in common with the organization of even a decade ago. Half the people you harbor resentments against were pooping Pampers when Bono, Grbac and Kreig were underperforming. Even Alex was just getting hair on his balls when Grbac left town.

Truth be told, Alex weighs little in the calculus for me.

He's proven he can win. He's proven he can come back [Chargers, Broncos]. He's proven he can ball out in the playoffs [Colts].

Does he do it all the time? No. But if he CAN, yet he DOESN'T, it's not an ironclad conclusion that he CAN, except when he alone CAN'T.

The bulk of the calculus after judging Alex capable shifts to trusting Andy and Dorsey to both keep frosty on roster evaluation and keep vigilant on new talent acquisition.

If Dorsey and Andy still have faith, I'm rolling with them. If they target a QB, wherever they target, be it a blockbuster trade, a later draft steal or even betting the farm on a blue chipper. I'll trust that as well.

As it stand now, Alex is not 'the' problem. Those who try to single out scapegoats in a team game are simpletons.

And all, and I mean ALL, the talk about the Hunts only want 'mediocrity' and are actively thwarting an express need, voiced by Andy/Dorsey and disregarded, for a better QB out of fear or cheapness is reeruned bullshit.

nice post.

attitude, gratitude.

Every Alex fan just loves reverting to a TEAM stat in their rebuttals, that should be weighted more towards defense and special teams points.

Out of all the fans that have witnessed this scenario before, you have done it up front and personal. I have to admit you have some massive gonads to keep taking the abuse this franchise feeds you year after year.

You are in LALA land man, just like you were with Matt Cassel and company.

Because, Chiefs.

feel better?

...it won't last.

I don't think anybody's blaming Andy and Alex for 2003, but I AM blaming the continued failure on the Hunts (they predate the secretaries and hotdog vendors!). I am, because of their positions and/or salary, blaming Hunt (again), Dorsey, Andy, and Alex for the 2016 TB and Titan losses. And all of them continuing to fail very-well might mean 47 turns to 48. Others had a part in those two losses, but they earn the coin, or have the position/status, to wear the badge of disgust.

It boils down to this...

Alex/Andy both get the blame from me. Whatever they are doing is NOT working, it's obvious, and they don't seem to be doing anything to try and fix it. We've seen the same shit all season.

Yet in Andy's presser every week, there's some variation of "we're going to fix it", or "I've got to do better".

Rinse, repeat.

"Whatever they are doing" includes not getting the ball, or trying to get the ball, to play makers. First touch by Hill, fifty yard TD run. Hey, lets not give him the ball the rest of the game, that makes perfect sense.

Dude that is classic Marty ball. Give the ball to Greg Hill, huge run or TD run... NO touches rest of game...

Reid is a fat Marty...

I can't remember where I read it, but apparently we're 3-3 when Kelce has 50 yards or fewer, and 7-1 when he's over 50.

Hmmm...I'm not an NFL head coach, but I think I might be focusing on getting 87 the ball.

This is the most frustrating thing to me.

It's so damn obvious, it really makes me question...

Just how smart is Andy Reid?

Well, over the past seasons... I've witnessed more of the "can't manage the clock, bonehead decisions, who refuses to run the ball" Andy that I heard about from the Eagles fans.

I def have not witnessed the "QB whisperer, guru, genius" guy that some claim him to be.

I have to agree with this post....

Where is the QB Guru and Offensive Genius that we have heard so much about?

We are in year 4 and can barely function as an offense...

You don't get to play this game. You lost this privilege when you use general yardage, TD, and team yard totals to criticize one player (QB). They are ALL team stats... derived from their HC's philosophy.

It's football. It is ALL team results.

Aight, don't answer my honest question then, you microscopic little penis wrinkle.

Then the argument of "All Alex Smith does is win".....is ****ing dead. You can't use that anymore.

Dude...it was 2-3 times as bad in the Cassel era... Did you know that?

To them nothing existed before alex got to kc.
