Good call (IMO) on the random order for the remainder round. It didn't benifit me, but them's the breaks. That's why it's random.

In retrospect, I should've made the remainder round one round of offense and K, and one round of defense and P going in the opposite order. Didn't think of that before the draw was made.

We don't have to have the K and P filled in teh regular draft?

I had actually been assuming that we needed a K and P in the first 33, but as I typed the previous post it occurred to me that you don't have to as long as you can fill both slots in the remainder round. I like the remainder round concept because it'll be interesting to see the strategies. There may be some teams with a few good players available, other teams with simply a lot of depth across more positions, some teams that may have promising rookies or free agents, and probably other combinations. Maybe a team with no K and P would pick their remainder round team specifically on those players. It'll be interesting to see how that round goes. |

ah, I see...but reading teh OP anyone picked in the remainder round has to be on the final roster, correct???

No, I think that would be something different that would happen in subsequent years, with the free agent draft. This would be a one-time event in Year 1, so I think we would do this: 33 veteran rounds 1 remainder round 7 rookie rounds Cut to 53 at the end of training camp. Does that sound reasonable? I think that makes the most sense, and it gives people an opportunity to "discover" breakout rookies in training camp. |

What the hell am I missing? |
what about doing the remainder draft after the rookie draft and having it go for as many rounds as people need to complete the roster?--nevermind you've answered that question
and are we officially ditching the whole scrubs thing in favor of full rosters? im cool with that |

The remainder round will have you get all of a team's players who weren't drafted in the first 33 rounds. So for example, if you take the Patriots in the remainder round, you'll get all of the Patriots except Tom Brady, Wes Welker, Randy Moss, Richard Seymour, etc. - the guys who are already taken by other owners. If you draft the Chiefs in the remainder round, you'll get...well, most of them. So realistically, it'll be something like 33+40 (camp fodder, journeymen, etc.) +7, which you'll then cut to 53. |
