I don't get this move at all. Attitude alone is not enough of a reason to unload a player of this calibre at this point in his rookie contract. If this isn't for massive compensation or if he isn't about to be suspended for something it's one of the weirdest trades I've ever seen, and I don't think it paints a very positive picture for the future of the franchise.

when was the last time there was a 3 team trade in the NFL? this isnt the NBA

I don't care if you despise Peters you don't trade him for pennies on the dollar when you can buy 2-3 years of control of him. He hasn't made hold out money yet and he has to play hard or he won't get paid by anyone else.
This is literally just throwing him away just do to it. |

For all of the greatness that Peters puts out on the field, I take some of the things we’ve heard about today and formulate this POV: if you have things like what SAUTO said going on, and you have a guy who wants out of KC, who won’t re-sign, who is irritable, who bitches at coaches, etc... then the on-field play becomes rather insignificant in the decision process here of whether to trade him or not.
The reports and stories lead me to believe that Peters was a ticking time bomb at any given moment, and that he did in fact blow up sometimes. That kind of attitude can spark the fire that will destroy any solid locker room chemistry that you have. At that point, his big plays are nullified because he’s having a massive negative effect on other aspects of the organization. If they kept him around much longer, you might very well have a situation where things really explode and the locker room gives up on the entire staff. |
