They certainly don't have to.

I doubt that this stays a secret that long. Anyone from the Chiefs, Rams or the NFL offices could leak that information.

I don't get this move at all. Attitude alone is not enough of a reason to unload a player of this calibre at this point in his rookie contract. If this isn't for massive compensation or if he isn't about to be suspended for something it's one of the weirdest trades I've ever seen, and I don't think it paints a very positive picture for the future of the franchise.

Stop with the race crap. As a fan, I cut my teeth watching Albert Lewis and Kevin Ross, then guys like James Hasty, Mark Collins (moved to safety as I recall) and Dale Carter, all guys with attitude and nastiness, but also pros, not head cases. I don't give two greasy flips about standing or kneeling. Line up, do your job in its entirety (run support), don't hurt the team with stupid penalties, he cool to the fans and your teammates. Period.

Dale Carter had a shit ton of off the field problems but hey that's better than Peters "being a thug" I guess.

Still live in the West Village. Split my time between there and northern San Diego (Encinitas). Thank you, friend, for maintaining such a cheerful demeanor amidst the darkness.

Can’t give that out. Niners might be the team. Not trolling ether, but it’s just a rumor. Nothing more than that.

mcaj22 02-23-2018 07:49 PM

when was the last time there was a 3 team trade in the NFL? this isnt the NBA

Mecca 02-23-2018 07:50 PM

I don't care if you despise Peters you don't trade him for pennies on the dollar when you can buy 2-3 years of control of him. He hasn't made hold out money yet and he has to play hard or he won't get paid by anyone else.

This is literally just throwing him away just do to it.

It's also insight into why all the homers are full of shit.

Everything Dorsey did was great when he was here. In reality, he was cutting corners by overpaying guys who were already here to absurd contracts and overdrafting players with limited skill sets based on measureables, or reaching for devout shitbags.

People can say character doesn't matter, but if you keep stacking these kinds of guys on a team, it will always blow up in your face. Reid has always gone too far in one direction. Pioli went way too far in the other (but still signed a murderous mother****er).

Truth be told, Peters was probably not going to be here after the next two years, but this is why you don't spend high picks on guys that get shitcanned from college teams. If he busts it's a bad pick; if his character reveals itself, he's a bad pick.

Sadly, I don't think most people want to get rid of Peters because he's a ****ing headcase. I think they're using him being a headcase as an excuse because they don't like what he did for the anthem.

Travis Kelce has cost this team just as much on the field (more, really) with his stupidity, but there are no calls to move him. And he's thrown teammates under the bus in the media while being an attention whore in the offseason, so it ain't just locker room issues, either.

Travis chilled out 'Hamas' come on bro - we both saw it - MP absolutely did NOT - Travis had one case after he'd been called on it - where he 'acted out' - M Peters had all of his remaining - where he showed his ass - don't get it twisted. love.

pugsnotdrugs19 02-23-2018 07:51 PM

For all of the greatness that Peters puts out on the field, I take some of the things we’ve heard about today and formulate this POV: if you have things like what SAUTO said going on, and you have a guy who wants out of KC, who won’t re-sign, who is irritable, who bitches at coaches, etc... then the on-field play becomes rather insignificant in the decision process here of whether to trade him or not.

The reports and stories lead me to believe that Peters was a ticking time bomb at any given moment, and that he did in fact blow up sometimes. That kind of attitude can spark the fire that will destroy any solid locker room chemistry that you have. At that point, his big plays are nullified because he’s having a massive negative effect on other aspects of the organization.

If they kept him around much longer, you might very well have a situation where things really explode and the locker room gives up on the entire staff.
