Well yeah, but Jose f'n Bautista isn't in the same galaxy as those guys.

Man its painful to see Waino have a horrible night. But, I guess Bob Gibson didn't win every game either.

We can't sweep a team for shit. Crazy, perfect chance and this is what happens.

The Cards are reportedly making serious inquiries on Cliff Lee. I imagine any trade talks will start with Shelby Miller.

Stinger 06-28-2010 08:57 PM

LMAO LMAO LMAO

Well it wasn't pretty but it is a win.

The D-Backs are terrible.

You'll never see a team tank a game any worse than they just did.

BWillie 06-28-2010 09:07 PM

So how do Cardinal fans feel about Albert Pujols turning 38 this year in American years?

We literally have nothing else in the farm system other than him. I can't imagine we'd get him.

And why would we trade him? He's going to replace Carpenter in the starting rotation in 2 years. He's our future. You thought the Haren trade bites us in the azz all the time. Trade Shelby and we won't even have an azz to bite after the first couple of years.

I watched them in person yesterday play the Rays in Tampa and they looked like chit and still won.

Now comes the opportunity cost of Matt Holliday.

If we could afford to re-sign Lee, I'd be fine with trading Miller (afterall, TINSTAAPP), but young pitching caveats aside, we simply won't be able to re-sign Lee and it would be a complete disaster if we let him walk as a FA and he signed with 2nd tier team, so we wouldn't even get a 1st round pick back in return.

At this point, we dance with who brought us, IMO.

Though there's an argument to be made that this team is !@#$ed once it has to spend $30 million/season to keep AP around anyway, so we might as well blow team up now for a 3-4 year window and recognize that we're not winning shit from 2015 to 2020 anyway....

Let's just ignore that possibility.

Even though it was against Dontrelle "Wild Thing" Willis, I'll take it. Not really fair to go up against a guy like Wainwright who is absolutely unhittable at home with that turd.

Screw fair. Anything that might jumpstart our lethargic offense works for me. Sure would be nice if we could hit like that against a pitcher who doesn't suck.

Hey, I'll take a win any day against anyone. Was more of a compliment to Waino. Heck we may have had a better shot then they did even if Waino was pitching lefty ;)

Felipe Lopez needs to stay hot and be the table setter we desperately need because we don't see Skip or B. Ryan doing it at all.

Its nice see TLR start the running game a little more also.

Wano is just nails. His curve and slidder are filthy as anyones in MLB.

I'm glad to see ALberts not going to be int he HR Derby. He needs to rest his bones for the 2nd half.

We need to get a helathy Freese back in the lineup. He was producing rbi's when he was healthy. His glove was better than expected at the hot corner.

Lets hope Brad Penny can be a legit starter back for the 2nd half. We need him infront of Jamie Garcia. I'm not counting on Kyle Lohse until late in the season.
