The problem isn't that it's on a premium channel. The problem is that many of us are under contract and can't even switch if we wanted to. And it doesn't help that we were previously able to see these shows because when the deal first happened, WIBW in Topeka was grandfathered in. Their contract ran out this year. I get why they did it. I just don't like it.

You should have just rode your bike to Hutch. It was nice to sit down & watch the game on cable TV. :evil:

If the Chiefs were put on PPV regionally while the rest of the country got to watch it free, you'd be livid.

Yes, but with UVerse, I've had nothing but good customer service. With TWC, Comcast and (formerly) Everest it was hell... even Sunflower Cablevision in Lawrence was a nightmare getting support. UVerse has been by far the best in service and customer support...

The dumbest part is when they add stuff to make it cheaper... obviously the bundle crap, but a couple years ago they added HBO and Cinemax to take off $30/month, then last year they took off Cinemax to save money but added 100mb internet.... so, I at least I can tell them to take off HBO and the extra 50mb internet if they have to, or maybe I'll get some other channels I'll never watch.

I'd gladly give them $50/month for ESPN/2, NBC Sports, NHLN, MLBN, FSN, Fox Sports 1, CBS, ABC, Fox, NBC, all those dumb channels for March Madness, and maybe a couple others. Last night I was thinking about Sling TV, but that doesn't quite do it. :(

You think it's too expensive. You think the cost shouldn't go up. You think it should be a la carte, and you shouldn't have to pay for that expensive engine or seats or handling. You just want the BMW logo.

You're ignoring that the cable conglomerates make a shit ton of money off those channels that YOU will "never watch."

But other people do. And they make money off of those people. Like how the CORPORATE SPONSORS know that they will reach a wider audience, so advertising with KU becomes more valuable, which helps the university attract richer sponsors and sign them to better deals.

And shit, man, the deal might be bad for some of you. It might be bad, period. But constantly bitching about it when there are numerous, easy solutions is just annoying as ****.

I don't bitch because I don't get to watch the Chiefs games live online. I don't shit up every single game thread bitching about the NFL deal.

I simply go to a sports bar, like an adult who has made choices in life and can maturely deal with the consequences.

The best way to get KU fans to stop bickering about this is to let the deal expire. Obv it's caused irritation for a sizable portion of the fanbase and caused some arguments. It's not healthy Zinger, so we need to end it when we can. Then we can all come together.

-- People in Kansas used to get all Jayhawks games, so the analogy would be the cost of a car went way up, not down.
-- The cost of a few basketball games isn't worth an entire month of cable, so it would be like buying the car to get the floor mats.
-- The cost of those basketball games clearly isn't worth a contract (if needed) or getting out of a current contract.
-- In the end, TWC can charge more for that channel, which sucks for customers who don't care about it.

It begins to make sense if the channel was offered by itself, or you could buy all the games online... except of course, they used to be available and now aren't.

It's all just bullshit for more money, which screws the customer in the end.
