You know your football well enough to know there is no comparison between Cutler and Dilfer.
I'm saying that no QB short of Elway can carry a team to the SB without at least some semblance of a defense. Look at the Vermeil Cheifs. They did nothing in the playoffs yet you wouldn't say the QB sucked.

Both coaches took the position of - this is my team, we are doing things my way, no player is special and no player is going to dictate how I run things.

You can get away with that with an older guard. It's tough to take that approach with your young franchise QB that just made the Pro-Bowl, especially when you have nobody to replace him.
