Well, they're no Kentucky or Penn State.

By which I mean to say, they wouldn't be a ****ing pathetic selection.

I never went to SDSU and never plan on going, but for some reason I live and die w/ SDSU basketball.

I guess its just because I've been to so many games.

I find it strange how after beating BYU (#25) yesterday they were pretty much a lock to get in, now after losing to Utah (RPI #10) today they are on the bubble again.

It's why #52 Florida and #57 Auburn have a shot, but #46 UAB and #56 Tulsa are ****ed.

So SDSU with a 31 RPI and a 38 SOS going into today aren't enough for you?

I'm saying non-BCS teams get ****ed, and it's bullshit.

I think SDSU would beat Kentucky and Penn State.

My homer glasses may be on, but they could definitely do it.

****ing USC

It would be pretty stupid if they seeded by RPI alone eh?

SDSU is really hurt by the fact that they lost to St. Mary's. Gonna be a tough year for mid-majors.

I'm gonna flip shit when UConn gets the #2 in the East behind North Carolina tomorrow.

KChiefs1 03-15-2009 09:23 AM

TSN had the seeds like this:

Highest to Lowest
1. North Carolina
1. Louisville
1. Pittslburgh
1. Memphis
2. UConn
2. Duke
2. Michigan State
2. Oklahoma
3. Missouri
3. Kansas
3. Syracuse
3. Villanova
4. Wake Forest
4. Florida State
4. Washington
4. Arizona State

It's funny how we talked about the resumes of MU, OU & KU and how similar they were & TSN has them in order with OU first then MU & finally KU....

MU was close to getting that 2nd seed.

I just cannot fathom how OU can be seeded higher than kansas and Mizzou. What have they done? Who have they beaten?

The RPI ranks them at 5, but if you go by wins and losses, they just don't beat what MU and ku have done this year.

I agree, but they have been ranked higher all year, so I think the perception is that they are better for some reason.

But isn't the selection process supposed to weed out "perception" to focus on what teams have actually accomplished? Isn't that the whole reason we do it this way instead of just going by the AP top 25 rankings?

Yeah, I know. I don't get it either. I also think that they could be rewarded for having the best player in the nation.

I was just looking at Joe Linardi's sp? bracketology on ESPN and he currently has 7 teams from the Big 10 in the tourney. Wisconsin at 18-12 and Minnesota at 21-10??? Please someone, explain this madness to me. IMO it has been a pretty weak year for the Big 11. Not SEC weak, but I can't see how 7 teams are deserving of tourney bids.
