No, next question.

We're certainly better coached, and we'll be running an NFL offense, which, strangely, was missing all of last season.

We'll see how well the team "stops" the run, however. My guess is that the end zones will end up being the most successful in this regard, as I'm fully expecting to see Oakland roll up 200+ on the ground, with 300 a definite possibility.

This.

Over the course of his career, he is at 35% of the time.

Asomugha has played 6 seasons in the NFL, he has a total of ten INT's. Eight of those came in one year.

Other than that one year, he has been very good, but not great.

In that one year, his PD to INT ratio was phenominal with 8 INT's versys 11 passes defensed.

For his first three years, he was considered a borderline bust. He has a great year, and then his reputation has carried him over the last two years.

It would be like Tamba Hali coming out and having 20 sacks this year and then having five or less the next two years.... and still being called the 'greatest'.

Dude, quit while you're ahead. Fine, Asamougha isn't the best CB in the game. It's debatable whatever.

Just don't mention Champ Bailey and "best CB" in the same sentence again if you want to have any shred of credibility left.

I understand he isn't quite the player he was, but at least he will still make you pay if you throw his way.

An incomplete pass doesn't worry me much.

Simile or not, you consistently compare garbage to apples.

And, yes, everyone understands your larger point.

For the first three years of Asomogha's career, he was considered a far bigger bust or reach than Tamba Hali through his first three years.

First three seasons of Asomogha's career, he had zero interceptions. He was considered a below average starter at best.

Not really. Eddie Kennison's got a pair of clown shoes in his trophy case with Champ's name on them.

Amazing what becoming second team All-Pro and Pro Bowler will do in year 4.

Ascending player > descending one.

Though it took a few years for Asomugha to recognize his potential, Hali will never sniff his level.

Every corner gets burned. Every single one. Deion, Rod Woodson, all of them get burned.

Cromartie got burned last night. Every cb does.

Not saying it will. It could, but I don't think it will.

The point is that Asomughas had two seasons he couldn't even get on the field, a subpar season as a starter, then a phenominal season followed by two good seasons.

The glow of that one good season will start to dim if he doesn't build on that year.

That guy lost any credibility about 1593 posts ago.

I hope JaMarcus throws the ball to Miller that means there will be some INTs.

He was first team All-Pro in '08.

He built on the '06 season.

LMAO Whats the deal did he steal your girl friend or something? After reading your posts I find your username ironic. I have heard sports writers, coaches, players, and GMs state he is the best in the game at his position. Dang if you want to run smack on Oakland there is a shit load of material you can use. Calling out the best CB in the NFL is making you appear as an idiot IMO

Did any of you pay attention to how BAD the Chargers were? Im sure that had a lot to do with why the Raiders looked OK. The Chargers looked soft and overweight. The Raiders looked poorly conditioned. There Skinny ass speedster Wr's were trying to catch there breath after every play. Russell looks like a complete idiot out there, his facial expressions say it all. Anyone catch him slouching to the side on the bench during the Chargers final drive? Dude is awful.

He had a big old smile on his face as they were about to lose. He doesn't care if he wins. He cares that he gets paid.
