I didn't realize this was their first year as employees in the NFL...

Well shit; it all makes sense now!

Going by need, usually equals a reach in the draft. I commend Pioli for sticking to his guns. He also had to give Albert the benefit of the doubt.

I seriously doubt, we pick O-line with our top pick this year, as well. I don't find fault in going with who you think is the best player, at a position of need. All things being equal, the D-line needed to be addressed, every bit as much as the O-line.

I think Pioli is on the right track and his vision for the team will pay dividends in the long-run.

The problem I had with Pioli and the draft was not Albert or drafting Jackson. It was sitting on Niswanger, Waters, Goff and ? at RT and expecting something to come of it.

Yes, cause they are the only people in the world who had a rough start when they were promoted.

I'd like to think of things in a simplistic way.

You give any coach or gm this team and I guarantee you they're going to have their share of struggles. This was a mess to begin with and everyone knew it.

At this point, Id rather place my focus on whats most important, and that is getting some good football players rather then judging the coach. Now I don't agree with a lot of decisions Haley has made or how hes managed football games, but the core of things really boils down to the players. Chiefs don't have enough good players, and at the end of the day it really doesn't matter who the coach is? its the players who win the games and not the coaches. And imo it shows in their play from lack of fundamentals and inability to execute. Those two things kill this team each and every time they step on the football field.

His play-calling hasn't been bad. There's been a few times, when he should have been more conservative, but proper execution of the plays and he looks like a genius. In fact, just last year, he was a so-called genius and well on his way to coordinating a Super Bowl offense.

I don't subscribe to the offensive play-calling being terrible.

Haley gets the Dumbass Coach of the Decade for that shit.

I think you mean, going for it on 4th down from his own 28, correct?

There is truth in that. If the QB hits some wide open receviers, the score doesn't give Haley a notion to even go for fake punts and such.

Let me re-phrase that...

Only a ****ing moron goes for it on 4th and 1 from their own 29 when they have the lead against Peyton Manning.

Only a ****ing idiot would chance giving Mannig a 29 yard field to win the game.

I understand the call completely, you put the game into your Future Hall of Fame QB's hands instead of the Colt's Future Hall of Fame QB's hands. Peyton is VERY good at those game winning drives and the Pats defense isn't a great unit, so BB decided to go Brady vs. Colts D instead of Manning vs. Pats D.

Sorry, it was a stupid call. I don't care who my QB is. If I have the lead and there is 2 min to go in the game I am making the field as long as I can for Manning.

In his defense, he brought in Alleman, Ndukwe, Goff, Colin Brown, and O'Callaghan.

I believe Pioli knew/knows that there was a problem with the O-line. I think this past off-season they were willing to try low-cost alternatives to see if anybody could pan out.
Most of the moves for the O-line haven't been any better than what we already had, but quietly, Pioli brought in a RT, that has done a better than average job, in O'Callaghan.

I view this year as try-outs for the team.

Do you really think that this abortion of a football team and coaching staff is better than last year's team and coaching?

Really?

Last year's team would have kicked the living shit out of this year's team.

Hands down.

This

That is my problem with it. This was the time to draft.

I agree, I would have liked to have seen more than one pick on O-line, as well, but it is what is. I will say this though, I like this year's 2nd day day O-line prospects better than last year's 2nd day prospects.

I believe we address O-line on the first day this year, as well as a 2nd day pick or two, depending on FA, trades, etc...

Remember, we have 8 picks, all in the top 5 rounds in the upcoming draft. That gives us a chance to add some players that could really improve our roster and add some players with some upside.

Didnt Herm at Indy in the regular season punt to Manning when Croyle and the offense was moving the ball all day.... Herm never saw the ball again...

One wild card that wasn't mentioned is that thers never been a coach that has cussed and demeaned his players like Haley. I say superbowl in 2010 !
