Are you kidding? I laughed at that part of Simmons' article and posted it here because it was hilarious. Cassel was atrocious this year and Brady played so bad Simmons' dad sent him a sarcastic text about Cassel. Now... Lets get to the quote you just posted. That is totally, 100% true. The PATRIOTS won 3 Super Bowls... The PATRIOTS featuring Tom Brady in the Peyton Manning role have won NOTHING. |
this whole topic makes me weep for the human race

Show me a few posts of things I've said about this year that are false.. I said all along Carson Palmer was super overrated and had little to do with the success of the Bengals...and you, Mecca...were all over the early season success (even though it was the Bengals winning with a good running game and solid defense, like I stated)...mecca even started a thread claiming Palmer was an MVP candidate... oh... and mecca bashing me because I said Chris Johnson was the best running back in the NFL before the season? ROFL Or me nailing the NFC 1-6 in the midseason playoff contest? How many did you get right hamas? Just because you come up with clever insults doesn't mean you know what the **** you are talking about... Just remember you did take Vernon Gholston #1 overall...and college football is supposedly your "specialty"... You don't know ANYTHING =) |

The above post should warrant prosecution for dumbassery. |
Under constant duress with OTs Marc Colombo and Flozell Adams (and Doug Free after Adams got hurt) getting beat relentlessly by Vikes edge rushers Ray Edwards and Jared Allen, Romo took six sacks and got nothing going downfield.
Man that Tony Romo sure is a choker. |

I agree... he was the best player on the offense and the best player on the team...and their unquestioned leader... I have never disagreed with any of that...ever. |

And FTR, please check out the last two years of my draft picks. I even updated the '09 picks for you the other day. |

I don't know how anyone could be that ****ing dumb. |

You know as well as I do that I was right all year long and that's why you "bumped" this thread...to try and save a little dignity. I wish I could link you to the Tom Brady/Peyton Manning threads I used to go pages and pages and pages against others in 2003 on thedilly.com...but that board is gone... I used to be the overwhelming minority...everyone referring to Peyton Manning as a choker...the only argument anyone ever had for Tom Brady was his "postseason success"... what now? Oh yeah... Now it's... Peyton Manning is a pussy who doesn't take hits and refuses to stand in the pocket and doesn't let his receivers finish their routes... ROFL Wow. |

Always. Best eyes in the NFL...looks off coverage better than anyone. Smart guy. That said...he's not even in the same galaxy as Peyton Manning. Don't understand how everyone doesn't agree. |

When have I ever said any of this? When have you claimed that Brady was a HOF'er but just a game manager? A really good QB, but a choker? Well, turns out in this very thread and the one from yesterday. Again, you are like one of the TV gambling gurus, who gives half his callers one team and the other half the other, then you claim that you're right. You constantly contradict yourself, but you think that no one sees it. It's pathetic. |
Quote:
That makes him, by definition, a game manager. Game managers are not great QBs. You keep contradicting yourself. |

I have always said Tom Brady was the 2nd best QB in the NFL.
Always, always, always. But I also think he is pretty much an over-glorified game manager. If someone is great at managing games and making plays if/when necessary...they can't be great QB's? I also said QB choke jobs are myths...but since the only rebuttal for brady backers is Manning choke jobs...I just like to throw out all of the mediocre/bad playoff games brady has put up as well...because his easily match peytons. |
