Is next year the last year Stanford educations will be available? If not...

Either that, or he has really smart people advising him that know things that we don't.

Because he could never return to get it again, ever.

He can only be a senior with his class once. Nothing wrong with enjoying college life. If he's as good as he seems, he'll be a great QB and make lots of money whether he comes out this year, or next.

It's a stupid decision in terms of money because he'll never get that back. In all likelihood, he's going to retire from the NFL at age X either way and by staying in school an extra year he loses 1 years' salary even if he doesn't fall back in the draft and lose ground on his first contract.

But it's his decision to make and he'll never get his senior year of college back either. So if he understands how much this last lap around the campus is going to cost him, it's his decision to make and maybe it's the right "happiness" decision for him (as opposed to financial decision). Does anyone know if he has a serious girlfriend at Stanford?

How many people are going to come up with lame examples of people who pulled the trigger in russian roulette but didn't die as proof that the game isn't dangerous?

Not necessarily true. Not that we'd ever know it, but if he's put in a better situation next year and he's more prepared to take on immediate playing time, he could earn a huge second contract as he plays up to the franchise QB label. He could do that anyway, or he could fail regardless...but the wrong situation could become a poor career choice.

How many players returned their Senior year and were injured and not drafted?

Brock 01-07-2011 10:31 AM

I wonder if somebody might have told him that if he enters the draft he won't be playing football next fall.

I don't know, but that extreme outcome has very little to do with my position.
