I was in Omaha last February, and the pic below was 3 weeks after their last big snow... but just like KC, they got a lot more than usual.

True. Canadians make better beer than Nebraskans do.

Heh...it's amazing what a difference 45 minutes west will make. :)

Where the hell was that? Military Rd maybe? I know there were some massive drifts in some rural areas around here.

It's on Harrison Street, around 192nd-204th Street.

I happened to find this one on my phone, taken around the same time... laughed every time I drove by...

LMAO

That's called job security.

Damn..... just now made it home. Left work an hour ago. Usually takes me 10 minutes tops.

It's a damn madhouse on the streets. Plaza traffic is backed up for at least 10 blocks in each direction. You would really think that bad weather would cause people to slow down and just accept that you're going to be late.... but no, many ****heads are even more impatient about running yellow lights and shit.

Hour forty to get from Olathe to Downtown. There are semi's and rear wheel drives sliding down the highways.

I saw an Asian lady doing under 5 mph on the highway straight ****ing every non-4x4 behind her.

I didn't even know Harrison was paved that far west. Luckily we didn't see that kind of drifting here in town.

Ok, I took the day off, having legitimate reasons to do so, but all those reasons were cancelled due to the weather. Hopefully they just cancelled the run alltogether. Can't imagine trying to get to St. Louis in this shit.

Felt somewhat guilty for not going in. Not so much now.

USD 501 topeka schools closed tomorrow already.

BigMeatballDave 01-19-2011 06:15 PM

This storm is headed my way but they're only calling 4-5".

Heh, I can't get to work without driving on one of our emergency snow routes. Guess I better not get stuck. I wonder if my employer would pay for the tow if it happened.
