LMAO Okay "The Bad Guy" You got me...

I have a life, I don't have time to watch games 24/7. The stats and rankings however do not lie; and they are quite easy to look up for when I do have the time.

Stats lie all the ****ing time, especially without the context of actually seeing things for yourself.

The "stats lie" argument can be used both ways to make a point. You conveniently interject it to benefit your argument. Three of West Virginias wins came against unranked teams. Baylor is barely ranked at all (#25) and has one of the worst defenses in the nation. So four unimpressive wins and barely edging out a bad Texas team that got murdered by Oklahoma somehow makes Geno Smith the best football player to ever lace up? lol This must be why people think the mid-west is full of reeruned rednecks. Wheres the rational?

So out of curiosity, what part of Geno's game don't you like?

How do you feel about his accuracy on short and intermediate throws? Deep balls? What do you think of his pocket presence or ability to read through progressions? What do you think of his throwing motion and release?

I'm game to entertain the idea that Smith is overrated. I'd just like to hear the specifics on what you don't like.

Best QB that we should take equals best player to ever lace up? Part of the reason Baylor is barely a top 25 is because of what Geno did to them. Again, as mentioned earlier, you should probably go watch him before calling him out on his schedule or thinking people are going over board.

Yep you guessed it, run it for a 5yd loss... hot garbage.

That was the first time I was tempted to turn the game off.

(I didn't withstand too many more times)

I don't give a **** if I am convinced or not.

It must be done. Draft a ****ing QB every ****ing year until we get the right one.

Athleticism
Work Ethic
Versatility
Ability to protect the ball
Quick release
Clutch ability
Leadership
Fight/drive

All of these qualities in Geno are NFL ready.

You people seem to be mistaken. I do not have a problem with Genos skill set or performances. I think he is a good player who has tremendous upside. But, is he the best QB prospect in next years draft? I remain skeptical. Yes, he is a first round pick, and will likely go in the top 5 no matter if he goes first or not...

As for his working skill sets; I'll leave that up to far more qualified individuals to assess. I do not happen to think he is a "slam dunk" player like many here happen to think he is. But thats because I think many here have incredibly unrealistic expectations. Against ranked quality opponents, he comes up average statistically. There is no crazy breakout game that puts me in awe of his abilities when it comes to playing other quality teams. Against sub par teams, hes great...against decent teams, hes remarkably average.

463 yards against LSU.

BossChief 10-14-2012 10:45 PM

take Matt Barkley and put him on WV and his stock drops. Put Geno Smith on USC and he is the unquestioned #1 pick (which he is anyway, on a far inferior team)
