Among a great number of issues I have with Wichita... my wife died there in a vehicle collision. This after promising her that we would live everywhere across the US (which we did) and that we would never die there (because I expected we would be elsewhere when it happened).

That aside... I lived there for WAY the **** too long and am very acquainted with the politics of the village. Wichita wants to be OKC/Tulsa but is essentially a larger Emporia. 83 shitty places to eat, and two decent ones, within a 10 minute drive.

You like concerts? Better love country because pretty much nothing else goes to that steep AF bullshit Intrust Arena. Wanna go to dive bars and listen to local bands instead? Wichita is such a cultural hub and a center for the arts that the city feels inclined to claim Martina McBride as their own despite her being from an hour and a half away from Wichita. The biggest group to come out of Wichita itself is unknown because no band from Wichita has had even the remotest of commercial success.

You like sports? There are plenty of semi-pro teams out there that the city will refuse to support (how the Thunder have managed to make Wichita their home is beyond me though their early championships when Dejardains in net probably did a lot to cement the team to the city.

You enjoy history? Go take a tour of the two single shittiest museums I have ever been to in Cowtown and the NA museum.

Do you enjoy beer? Awesome... because there are 83 small breweries in town that all serve ok beer.

There is **** all going on in Wichita other than meth, movies, and restaurants.

At what? The Shockers suck more AIDS riddled micro dick than Billay. An All-Star team assembled form the local high schools would give the current Shocker MBB team more than it could handle.

Wichita is an infected cyst on the asshole of America (the asshole of America being the entire state of Kansas).

Wichita can feast on that tasty spot between my asshole and my scrotum. Hulk out buddy because I have nothing but seething hatred for that sea of beige.

I know that historically Wichita has had one of the highest violent crime rates per capita of any USA city. Nothing to do there so people beat the crap out of each other.

Gotta call bullshit on this lol and you live in independence?

LMAO @ people getting upset in defense of America's largest trailer park. People thumbs down my post but can't refute it because it is all true.

Don't get mad at me that this thing:

is one of the larger attractions the township of Wichita has to offer.

It's not in the top 20 any longer, but it's historically not good either.
St. Louis is currently the city with the highest per capita violent crime.

Stayed in Wichita nine or ten years ago when I played in a golf tournament. The tournament was at Sand Creek Station. I enjoyed the course and thought it was pretty good. It just so happened that there was some gay pride shit going on that weekend. Pulled into the hotel parking lot and the wife was like "look at all those towels." I didn't know until she informed me they were all rainbow gay pride towels. She was going to hang by the pool while I golfed, but the pool was full of the gays so she passed on that. We did go down town and ate at some local brewery type place. Must have been a car show because all these cool cars kept cruising by. The gay thing left a weird view of the place on my psyche.

Played a tournament in Windfield that year as well. Those places are not the same.

We’re all sorry that gay people existing messed with your psyche.

I've never set foot in the town, but I like looking at residential real estate as a hobby, and Wichita has to be one of the cheapest metro-sized housing markets in the country. If I ever need to relocate to a cheaper market in retirement, I'd give Wichita a look.

As an example, I went out on Realtor.com and picked houses for the sale in the 2500 to 2750 square foot range, and then found the median price.

Here's Wichita's median for $355,000. https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...=srp-list-card

Here's Denver's median for $879,000. https://www.realtor.com/realestatean...=srp-list-card

Old fat harry guys walking into the breakfast area who had been banging each other all night. One guy was wearing his cock ring with leather straps as suspenders. It was disgusting. You couldn't have paid my wife to take a dip in that pool with all the frolicking men. Ewwww.......

Iowanian 01-27-2024 09:47 PM

Don’t worry…I plan to add some sophistication to the metropoilitan area a few times this year.

DrunkBassGuitar 01-27-2024 09:55 PM

Old Town isn't terrible but there's not a lot in Wichita

Tallgrass film festival is pretty decent

I ate an assload of mushrooms and went with my friends to club rodeo which was simultaneously one of the worst and one of the best decisions I've ever made

I saw filter at one of the bigger clubs and it wasn't packed
