will these rookie OL be starting? and would they be upgrades?

WE all admit that the OL is shit.. and anyone with a brain admits that the WRs are underwhelming..

So why anyone expects Smith to excel with this is truly absurd.

If Smith had good pass pro and at least a better WR somewhere on the field, you would hear no "excuses."

Until that happens..

It's the never ending circle of excuses.

Definitely not good enough to excel with this shit OL and lack of run defense.

That's sure enough true.. but that would also be true of 29 other currently starting QBs.

And if the Chiefs had the type of defense, WR's, RB's, TE and and O-Line you guys that are lining up to give Smith a blowie insist that it takes for him to be successful then there would be at least 29 other QB's that look pretty damn good to.

Nope.. that be your hyperbole.

Just one more good WR... a better LG.. a better RT.. and a good ILB.

That should be sufficient... and for upgrading what we have at these spots? Simply would not take leaps and bounds to accomplish.

You're ignoring the defense which is has to be top 5 in the league for Smith to be worth a shit.

That defense is two years of solid drafting from being top 15.

Jimmya 12-01-2014 09:11 AM

Espn "the chiefs do not have a qb that can come back from a 14 point deficit, let alone 17-0 as it was last night before Smith inked a first down"

hometeam 12-01-2014 09:19 AM

He cant win games unless the defense plays lights out.

Any QB can win games when the D plays lights out.

Of course, its never Alex Smith fault. Never has been.

Nah. Maybe DJ recovers well.. but I did add ILB. The CBs should improve over time. This defense is already ranked top 10 as is... though I agree, they are not as good as ranked.. but still not a total wreck if the new/old ILBs can stuff the run better. Draft a top WR... add another decent vet at the expense of Avery or Bowe... sign a good vet OL... draft another high one...

one offseason way...

BTW, defense did there job last night. When the offense has 8 total first downs, 7 3 and outs. What the **** can they do? They where out there for 40 minutes of clock time. FORTY!! Oh yea, they hold Peyton Manning to 5 field goals in the second half. It was his worst game all year, and then people go OMG BUT THE DEFENSE.

Give me a break.

Give me a break.

They did alright later in the game. Early on, they sucked hairy balls. Add to that, allowing 200+ rush yds to CJ Anderson? Yeah... that's a problem.

Fix the OL first.. all starts in the trenches. I really don't think people could sincerely name 5 QBs that would have done well for KC in the first half or later in the game when we clearly needed to pass the ball behind that OL blocking.

QB is always an easy target when you don't like him to begin with.. but Smith can't walk on water to make up for the OL or run D.

That's bullshit.

He didn't need a 'light's out' defense last January.

And last night's defense, while it did 'force' FGs, only gave them up after giving up 3rd and long time after time after time, mostly to a scrub JAG RB. They were only a severely underperforming Manning away from a decent 50-dinger hung on them. There were at least 4 TDs that didn't happen solely because either Manning overthrew, or the receiver dropped perfectly thrown balls.

He needs a competent team around him, but so does EVERY 'elite' QB that's ever been to the SB.

Not from me, not anymore...

Did the line play their worst game last night, yes.
Do our receivers still lack any real explosive ability, yes.

But none of that changes the fact that he did have chances to make something happen and he missed them repeatedly, when an offense has three straight three and outs you can bet that the QB most certainly deserves a heaping dose of blame.

12 games in and he hasn't been able to find an open WR in the endzone? BULLSHIT

12 games in and his longest pass of the year is 34 yards? BULLSHIT

The grind it out, methodical style is fine if that's what he prefers, but ONLY when its coupled with the capability to get yards in chunks when it becomes NECESSARY.

**** him along with all the rest of this shithole, last night was my breaking point... I'm going full Clay from here on.

He's boring, but what does anyone suggest we do? Draft Derek Carr or Blake Bortles?

Teddy Bridgewater and Johnny Manziel were also possibilities last year. There are going to be some growing pains with both, but at QB if you don't have upside you don't have shit and that's why we have shit.
