As a weather report in Denver, I'm about two or three miles east of the pit of iniquity, and we're getting big wind gusts with a dropping temperature. It's not cold at all, maybe 50 degrees, but the wind is really kicking up. Hopefully that means less passing and more Spencer Ware.

"Heavy winds eh? they'll be expecting us to run it... which means they'll never see 50 passes coming!" |
So I've been thinking about this game. The Chiefs have something like 11 starters out and the Broncos have one. The Broncos are playing at home and have obvious deals in place with the league. So why is the spread only 3.5 points? It should be something like 15 points.
Let's stop and look at the relevant facts. First, Las Vegas has connections in the NFL. If they're only showing a 3.5 point spread, they know something is up. And they're wanting people to be on the Broncos. Second, the two teams have a national game coming up on Christmas that will draw a bigger audience. The league will want the Broncos to win that one, because it's a bigger audience. If the Broncos win this game, it will offer less opportunity to hype the Christmas game. They'll want it to be a revenge game. We know that the league has been wanting close games and exciting endings in nationally televised games. So they're going to keep this game close. When you combine all of the above, it points to one conclusion: a close game and an amazing Chiefs play at the end for the win. We're going to win tonight! I guarantee it. http://www.pophistorydig.com/wp-cont...ool-10-jan.jpg |
