Reid is a decent CEO-type HC who needs a strong staff like he had during his early years in Philadelphia. Reid instantly turned around the Chiefs from the Fat Scott laughing stock, and he deserves credit for that. However to get to the next level he needs to upgrade his coaching staff and recognize his limitations as a playcaller and fully delegate playcalling responsibilities to Nagy.

I've said for years now, Monday through Saturday Andy is likely a top 5 coach in the league. On game day, he is in the bottom third. Incapable of making in game adjustment.
It is unfortunate the KC media is worthless. How about asking the simple question, "Andy, who was calling the plays in the second half?" He sure seems to be speaking into the mic and looking at the play sheet every time he was shown in the second half. |
One thing that rips my heart out of my chest is consistently going to unknown players in clutch situations. When we were winning the past few weeks, we were consistently putting the ball in the hands of Hill and Kelce when we absolutely had to have yards. And guess what? It worked.
In yesterday's game, the passes in major clutch situations went to Orson Charles and Albert Wilson. Maybe someday those guys will be stars, and they deserve to get their chances, but not in a playoff game with the game on the line. Do it 1 time in 20 and it's clever. Do it 19 times out of 20 and it's dumb. |
Andy Reid is good at getting beaten in the playoffs by lesser teams.

It is also one of the first questions I am asking Nagy if I am interviewing him for a HC job. Were you or Andy calling the plays in the second half? |

No reason to even hope that Reid will be fired. He’s not going anywhere. He signed a contract extension this year likely at or north of the 7.5 mil per season he was already earning. Clark is not going to eat that entire salary for a coach that has brought stability and winning back to the organization.
Best that fans can hope for us that 1) he stops calling plays and 2) he cleans house with the coaching staff (Sutton) and starts turning over this roster. |
