I'm not as down on Houston and Berry as most of this forum. However the reality is they can't stay healthy. If you can release them or get them to take a massive pay cut instead, you do it.
We've had 4 years of playoff appearances in their era. Houston has been 100% for none of it IIRC. I know 2 years in a row he was basically a decoy out there. Can't remember about Berry. |

what's the cap hit to cut both Houston and Berry after the season?

If Houston and Berry are healthy next year and play the whole year they will be dominant and this team will be unbeatable. You all are ready to pull the plug already because you're frustrated. I get it, I'm frustrated too. But to act like these pro bowlers are a bunch of chumps that should be dropped because you have no patience is pretty dumb.

Cutting Houston after this season saves $14 million. Looks like we're stuck with Berry's until 2020 or 21. Unless I'm reading it wrong we don't get a cap break until then. |

Nobody said that. But they're not doing any good standing on the sideline, which both of them have a history doing. |
Eric Berry: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/kansas-c...ic-berry-6514/
"POTENTIAL OUT: 2020, 3 YR, $42,500,000; $8,000,000 DEAD CAP" |

well, according to that, we would save 9.5 mil by cutting him after June 1st next year. Unless this "sore heel" thing is solved and over with I would absolutely do that. |

Cap Savings to cut Houston pre June 1: $14,000,000
Cap Savings to cut Berry pre June 1: $1,550,000 If we want to keep Houston he will need to re-negotiate for sure. But there is practically nothing gained to cut Berry. |

post June it jumps though, unless I'm reading it wrong. to $9.5 Am I incorrect? Oh, that's correct, but you still also have an $8 mill cap hit in 2020 |

I'd tag Ford and let Houston walk. |
