This may all boil down to the type of ammunition used by the proposed assassin.

Are we talking about the basic .22, .45 caliber Classic Personal Defense JHP Hi-Shoks, or a Radically Invasive Projectile?

This could make a lot of difference both in terms of survivability and quality of life after the fact.
