Whelp, cancel my PC building plans (again). Every time I start the process to build one, I always end up finding a great laptop deal.

$1299 no taxes and free shipping for this seemed really great considering the issues I'll have finding a card for the next few months.

Wow, amazing deal. I paid almost double for something similar.

If you manage to snag a 3080/6800XT, your son is going to enjoy some butter smooth game play at like 150 fps, which is insane.

Thanks for the validation! Monitors are hard for me, there are so many factors.

I ordered the cpu, ram, mobo, and ps yesterday.

Now to find a frigging card. I put my name in the EVGA notification list. God knows how many people are on it in front of me. I like that they are making every effort to keep the bots and scalpers out of it this time around though.

There are some good guts in there. Question: on gaming laptops, do you game on the laptop screen or hook it up to a larger monitor?

I hook it up to a monitor (this changes between my Dell ho-hum monitor capped at 75 hz @ 1080p and my spectacular LG 65" C9). The REAL reason I got it is for hooking it up to my Quest 2 for VR wirelessly via Virtual Desktop or cabled with the Oculus link. There are some titles on SteamVR that I cannot play on natively on the Quest 2 that I am excited about playing. I've got a 2018 Omen with the 1060 6G card that will play my VR games, but I'm looking to upgrade for more performance, especially in light of the fact the Quest 2 has a resolution of almost 2k per eye.

Thanks. It sounds like portability is a plus for your use.

Yes it is. I might have considered a Mini-ITX for a hot second, but the fact that Virtual Desktop works best wired means I would still have to lug it downstairs every time I wanted to use it. Hopefully your build is coming along nice!

Not on anything major. I picked up some Samsung memory for the build I値l do some day if they ever release anymore 3080s. 970 Evo Plus 2tb nvme for $249.99., usually $469.99. 970 Evo Plus 1tb nvme for $149, usually $229, and 860 1tb sata ssd for $99, usually $169.

Beats by Dre Power Beats Pro for $150, usually $249. All at Best Buy.

Also got a Milwaukee M12 Fuel hammer drill for $99 and Milwaukee 28 piece ratchet set for $99 at Home Depot.

Has anybody used this case before, looking at picking one up, Walmart has them for like $70. Wanting something with really good airflow through it.

I just got done watching Gamers Nexus do a breakdown of it and seen a Cooler Master and a Lian Li case I知 interested in that seem to offer a little more. His test show the Lian Li as cooling their test setup about 10c cooler, so I知 checking it out now

You wont go wrong with that corsair if you decide to go with it, lian li and phanteks both make awesome cases in that price range as well. Any of those nicely built 100 dollar cases should fit your needs.

My main build rocks a lian li pc-011 dynamic, but thats more like a 185 dollar case.

This is the one I’m starting to look over
