His job is also to follow orders set forth by the GM and owner.

I think that losing that game on purpose to jump 3 spaces in the 2021 draft was more than a good enough reason to lose the game but the morons in New York or Philly won't be able to grasp that concept until/unless really productive players are taken in that spot.

The 76ers outright tanked for years in order to restock their team, so Philly fans should understand this decision better than anyone else.

Solid points all, and I get the reasoning behind them

But man, I've just always been against tanking as a general rule... it sends the total wrong message about building/maintaining a winning culture by default, IMO

Yes a choice the team made in order to lose a game. I'm not saying play him at halftime, play him the whole game. I'm sure a great game brings more in trade value than a few rounds.

I don't think you've been paying attention to this ordeal.

Based on the fact that they're currently more than $75 million over 2021 cap, I don't think there will be many players left from that roster next season.

Lurie just needs to clean house and start from the ground up.

Kind of jumbled up, but at age of 34 in 2021 his base salary is $5,500,000 with $2,914,000 prorated bonus, could get $8,414,000, but none is guaranteed. 2020 was last year he had a $4,000,000 guarantee.. If they let him play through 2021, they would probably cut him(if he didnt retire) in 2022, as it would save them 4,314,000 against the cap. Maybe they would like to move him a year early and he COULD play with his brother and Coach Reid.?

Way easier to justify resting players for playoff vs. benching players whose seasons are done.
Hard to find any reason why they'd want to see anything out of Sudfeld vs. seeing more from Hurts.
Reid/Tomlin made expectations clear to players where Pederson's players were clearly not on the same page.
Benching a QB for what was clearly a throw the towel move is a bizarre move that late in a close game. I don't know that there's much precedent for it and Kelce/Ertz/others showed exactly why you don't do that. I mean, the Chiefs benched Mahomes for bray a few years ago... but they had a 14 pt lead and Mahomes went back in to close the game.

Some people are pissed. More people don't give a shit about the Giants and are just shocked.

$8 million dollar center?

Sound high, but our line is a piece of shit so I don't know.

TribalElder 01-04-2021 06:03 PM

Losing the game was the right move for philly

Losing the game was the right move for us too, although it wasn’t enough to keep the chargers coach I would expect the chargers win cost them in the draft order

Meaningless games but they matter in the long game

TribalElder 01-04-2021 06:08 PM

Also if the giants wanted to win the division they should have won more games

Waiting for a shit team like the eagles to win so you can back into the playoffs is such a bitch move they should be ashamed

RickObie 01-04-2021 06:08 PM

I'm sure it's been said, but if you're the Giants or any other team fighting for the playoffs - WIN more games then you won't need to worry about any other team and how they fair on the field...

If that's what actually happened, sure, I understand that.

Yes, because yesterday wasn't the last game of the season for the Chiefs. Andy was right to sit his starters because yesterday was practice. He's trying to win three more games before the season is over.

Pederson and PHI just had yesterday.

Big difference, but I know you know that.

Unlike Greg Williams, Doug Pedersen wasn't fired the day after making a decision to protect their draft order, so it appears as if the owner and GM were onboard with this decision.

Kelce, Ertz and any other Eagles player knows that football is a business first and foremost, despite their "feelings".
